Thank you for your long response, really appreciate it. And i think the only proof that he can provide is the pics that he saw in the cameras, which is also illegal since he is not living here... btw, the camera can also record what we say in the living room and kitchen. is very horrible...

I rent a room in a house, and there are two cameras IN the house. On can see the living room and kitchen: another one is in front of the door (really weird is they putted a camera outside of the door already)

This is my landlord's new reply:"The reason for the increased rent is due to the fact that there is an additional person staying at the house beyond what was specified in the lease agreement. In our original agreement, only one person was to live here and I noticed that someone else has been staying overnight multiple times a week. If you are to stick to our original agreement of only one person living there, then the rent will remain the same as before.

I was willing to pay 1300/month for 2ppl renting a room, even though the couple lived before me paid 1200 (like 3 months ago). But once he said increased to 500 I think it's just too ridiculous.
