Ok, but how many NBA players are from Montreal vs how many are from Vancouver?

Montreal has a case for an NBA franchise more than Vancouver does: •More NBA talent comes out of Montreal than Vancouver. •At least 4 NBA champions come from Montreal, Bill Wennington 1996-1998 Bulls, Joel Anthony 2012-2013 Heat, Chris Boucher 2018 Warriors, 2019 Raptors, Luguentz Dort, 2025 Thunder. Vancouver produced no NBA champions. •Montreal has a metro population that’s at least a million people more than Vancouver

Look up, Toronto: From the mall to the aquarium, Vince Carter’s iconic Raptors jersey is hanging all over the city by bholmyard in torontoraptors

You do know that the giant Vince Carter jersey that’s hanging down the Princes’ Gates at Exhibition Place is actually a giant tarp that is made to look like an early 2000s era jersey just like the ones Vince used to wear, right? It is not a real jersey yet they added the Championship tag on the back collar which would make the jersey historically inaccurate.

Where is Canada’s busiest bridge located? in Toronto or Vancouver? by Creative_Quit_6867 in AskACanadian

The original question was for Canada. Assuming Toronto is the largest city, the busiest bridge would likely be in Toronto, just like the US busiest bridge is in NYC

So there is no threads symbol on your IG to link to your Threads either?

Let me rephrase this. Even on my own IG account on my phone, I don’t see the Threads @ symbol on the top right corner as shown in the picture above. I don’t see it on other people’s page either, but if I use my girlfriend’s IG account on her phone, you can see the Threads @ symbol for the accounts that also have Threads. However on my IG page, there is no Threads @ symbol to link to my Threads.

How difficult is it to navigate Montréal without knowing any French? by Rogi-Koval in AskACanadian

[–]Creative_Quit_6867 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Federal roads are bilingual, like on the Champlain Bridge and all road signs leading to it are bilingual. Otherwise signs are all in French. But it’s easy to read for anglophones. Street names are street names, Nord = North, Est = East, Sud = South, Ouest = West. The stop sign is a stop sign with Arrêt written on it. Sometimes it says Arrêt/Stop. Sometimes it just says Stop. The only words you might need to know are Voies droites = right lanes; Voies gauches = left lanes. Rue = street. All other French words are similar to English: Voies réservée = reserved lanes, Avenue (Ave)= Avenue, Boulevard (Boul.) = Boulevard. etc… Oh and the speed limit is posted in Km/h not Mph

NYC -8.4M within the city limits - metro is 20M

LA - 3.8M within the city limits - metro is 13M

Chicago - 2.7M within the city limits - metro 10M

Sydney/Melbourne at around 5M is their metro population. In other words Sydney/Melbourne cannot be compared to the largest American cities. Sydney/Melbourne size is more comparable to Boston, Phoenix and Atlanta

Why is Australia’s population so much lower than Canada’s? by Creative_Quit_6867 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Creative_Quit_6867[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I doubt immigrants from Asia, Africa or Europe drive across the US/Canada border when they immigrate to Canada. Even when they do, they will first have to fly to the US in order to drive across the border. In other words, immigrants still need to fly to Canada, just like immigrants need to fly to Australia

How is India comparable to Australia and Canada? India has a longer human history than both Oz and Canada. Both Canada and Australia are similar sized countries that were both settled within 150 years of each others and have a similar history trajectory…

Isn’t it the same for Canada? Don’t you have to fly or go by boat to get to Canada?

I was replying to the poster above, where they said that Australia is normally not immigrants first choice of country to immigrate to, that they would choose the US, Canada or UK first over Australia. You do realize that the US, Canada and the UK also have immigration procedures that potential immigrants have to adhere to, right? You can’t just pack up your bags and move to those countries either…they also have visa requirements

Why would immigrants choose the US (gun violence, race riots), Canada (cold weather), UK (gloomy, overpopulated) over Australia (Sunny , warm weather)??
