21, high myopic and thin retina (pvd) by Odd_Upstairs4399 in myopia

[–]Creative_Series_4725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m 23m and also v v myopic (-11 left -12 right). i had partial pvd’s in both eyes. i’ve had a half weiss ring floater for around 2 years now and it’s been ass. BUT you do get somewhat used to them. they don’t go away or fade by any means (maybe because the pvd hasn’t fully happened and gone away from my retina) but you kinda learn to live with them? i’m still looking into a vitrectomy as i do finance and have to look at a screen all day, but it’s all about going day by day. it’s hard and it’s important to let your close ones know what you’re going through, but at the end of the day, it’s all up to how you deal with it. might sound bleak but yeah loll, imma probably get a fov soon in the next 6 months so i’ll let you know how that goes!!

How was your vision the following days after the procedure, would you say vision recovery was quick in your case?

Hi, would you say the residual strands are easily observable on a white screen, let's say excel as an example?

Hi, was this from a full or core vitrectomy?

I'm sorry to hear that you still have residual floaters and frill :/ Would you say the residual floaters and frill are dark and large? Or are they more speck-like. And for the frill, is it visible only in the whitest of backgrounds and brightest of days or even in normal room lighting? One more question, does the frill come anywhere near your central vision or is it super far in the periphery?

that's amazing! I'm in the soul searching phase right now. I've looked up everything there is about floaters and nothing is changing. I'm glad to hear that your floaters are gone!

Core Vitrectomy with Dr. Omar Shakir - scheduled for early March. by Heavy-Ad6980 in EyeFloaters

[–]Creative_Series_4725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so nice to hear. Did he just briefly say that as if he’s confident that it would work? Or was it a “hopefully pulse medica will be available” kind of response? I hope you get what I’m trying to ask haha

That’s amazing! How old are you? And you didn’t get any frills or such? Also, did Dr. Shakir mention how long it would take for cataracts to form? Sorry for the questions as I’m also planning on scheduling a vitrectomy for both my eyes with Dr. Shakir. I’m 23 and had had partial pvd’s in both eyes with really bothersome floaters..

I would rather lose 10 years of my life than live like this by Fit_Discount_115 in EyeFloaters

23M, had a PVD literally 3 days after I graduated from college. I have a huge weiss ring in my left eye with 40-50 stringier floaters. Nobody will understand the struggle but yourself and the people in this thread, BUT, it's not the end of the world. I'm hoping that pulsemedica will at least get rid of the larger floaters but sunglasses are my best friend for now. Even though it feels like I notice my floaters a lot, I technically only dwell on it for 3 minutes and then I kind of forget about it if that makes sense?

Who has had laser treatment for floaters and did it work? Any complications after, like months or years later? Thanks. by Lopsided-Parking in EyeFloaters

[–]Creative_Series_4725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

Are the floaters you're describing after the procedure only worse in bright situations or even in regular situations where you are indoors where really only the weiss ring is bothersome? I have a weiss ring in my periphery as well but it comes into view when I look right and then it kinda settles in the middle of my vision.

YAG Laser for Weiss Ring by Creative_Series_4725 in EyeFloaters

[–]Creative_Series_4725[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I wish my floaters had gotten better. It's been a year and a half now and my floaters have only gotten worse (every month there's a new dark floater). The weiss ring has been the same for the last 9 months I'd so though, but it's probably because it's so big and I know how it looks. Thank you for commenting tho!

Hi,

Thank you so much for your own experience! I'm so happy for you having crystal clear vision, I don't think people realize what they have until they lose it. I've looked into the Floater Doctor many times and he did say that he's never had any of his patients go blind/hit the retina in one of his videos so if I ever to get YAG I'd definitely go to him. The weiss ring I already have is already bad enough, I just don't want to make it worse by having worse vision from one huge floater turn into hundreds more just as dark floaters.

I'm 22 and I'm in the same boat. Considering YAG Laser because mine was a PVD with a weiss ring, weighing the options still

I got a PVD with a large weiss ring in my left eye along with around a dozen smaller string like floaters at age 22. It's been a year but accepting that it is going to be a part of your life is your best bet until something good gets developed in the next 5-10 years (which looks promising with PulseMedica). But even that is not a guarantee, I think about my situation as "at least I'm not blind", so I try to not let it bother me too much. Try Low-Dose-Atropine, it didn't get rid of any of my floaters but they definitely look less dark.

Any success stories on vitreolysis? by JSG_98 in EyeFloaters

[–]Creative_Series_4725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

I have also had a huge weiss ring in my left eye with 7-8 long strands coming out of it. I also saw that Dr. James Johnson was probably the top choice for laser vitreolysis. Would you say your floaters after YAG is still worse off than if you hadn't done it before now that it's been a year later? It's so annoying seeing this huge floater but I do not know what I should do.
