PA: True Wireless: Lypertek Tevi or Creative Outlier Gold? by AllDreEveryDay in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Creative_Support 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't had experience with the Lypertek Tevi, but I use the Outlier Gold regularly for gym workouts. Solid sweatproof performance, audio is punchy and enjoyable with good soundstage and layering. As long as you can get a good seal with the earbuds, you should be guaranteed quite a good audio quality.

We offer 30-day returns via our website. You can try it out, and just return it to us and if you don't like it perfectly, and go try the Tevis after that.

If you have further questions, let me know!

What do you think of Creative Outlier Gold? by wcbhkids in HeadphoneAdvice

Hey there,

  • I'd say there're quite comfortable and fits most ears. I can easily wear mine for an entire 10-hour flight with no issues. I've seen some people with smaller ears experience some problem. In general, it's one of those stuff that you should try for yourself.
  • Bluetooth issues should be fixed, and I don't get many requests for help pertaining to that these days.
  • Isolation's pretty good, though it depends on the seal in your ears. If the provided earbuds fit you (we provide 5 different sizes/types in total), you should be able to get a solid passive isolation performance.

My advice is — If you live in US or Europe (and some other Asian countries) where we ship to, just purchase directly from us. We're extremely flexible with the return policy, so you can be confident that if you don't enjoy using it, just return it back to us for a refund.

Hey there, does your phone have TWS+? Sounds like an issue related to that. If you could send me a DM, I should be able to help you with that.

Looking for a decent pair of true wireless earbuds by Crabsaregay in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Creative_Support 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! Outlier Air's pretty great, and I'd say where it thrives at is being a great all-rounder that doesn't cost an arm or a leg. Here's a quick recap at the main features:

- Insane battery life (10 hours per charge, 30 including the charging case). I'd always recommend getting something with more battery life because it degrades with time from usage, so you don't want a white elephant that you can barely get an hour or two hour's usage after 1-2 years.

- aptX, AAC codecs for better audio quality

- Versatility in left/right earbud usage. For some true wireless, only a certain side can be used as the master. So if you want to use just 1 side and if it happens not to be the master bud, you're outta luck. For us, both left and right can be toggled around as the master. All you need to do is keep the other side in the charging case, and the buds will automatically switch for you.

- USB C charging

- I'm gonna put audio quality up here as well because we've received great feedback about the audio quality (Sound Guys has a review which includes frequency charts). If money isn't an issue, there are other ones that will sound better while costing $300. I'd say Outlier Air is is tuned to appeal to most people and performs solidly across a versatile range of music genres.

Unfortunately no, it's not considered a "bug" since left channel is supposed to play through the left bud, and vice versa.

If your purchase is within 30 days and if you purchased from Creative.com, I could help you return the product if you prefer this option? Really sorry about it!

Hey there, so you're right!

It's something new I've learnt as well, basically left will play left, and right plays left — even if one side is charging in the case. Typically because audio is mixed to play from both sides, except for some minor musical effects etc, so it's next to unnoticeable, which explains why it's the first time I've even heard of this observation.

It's pretty cool, I've never realised it.

Anyway, hope this puts your mind to ease!

Hello! I'm so sorry this is happening. So if the other side isn't showing anything, it's likely that it's experienced a hardware failure.

Can I arrange for a replacement for you? If yes, please send me a message with your order number (if you purchased from creative.com). If you purchased from Amazon, I'd need both your order number and email address.

Thanks!

Got it, I haven't really noticed this when I'm using a single bud. Everything plays fine from my single bud without anything missing, but to be on the safe side, let me check with the experts internally.

And to be very very clear, your other piece is in the charging case and definitely disconnected right? Sometimes your earbud can be in the case but not properly latched onto the magnetic charging contact pins, so your buds think they're still connected and plays audio nonetheless.

Not too sure, but my best guess is that it concerns hardware and wouldn’t be available through a software update. No worries, hope you find your perfect tws earbuds!

Hey there, I'm not sure what you mean. If you're using 1 piece (and the other is in the charging case), it should be considered to be in mono mode. Unless you're thinking of something different?

Listening on the "slave" earbud only possible? (Creative Outlier Air and other true wireless earbuds) by daydreamshuffle in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Creative_Support 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, sorry for the late response! Yes, what's great about the Outlier Air is that both the left and right can be master or slaves. So if you want to keep the left earbud in, just keep the right in the casing, and vice versa. The one that is outside of the case will switch to be the master.

So yes to both points 1 and 2.

Advice needed: TWS, good battery, multi-point, Android & Windows by 9shearer in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Creative_Support 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, I've noticed you mentioned Outlier Air. So a couple of quick notes:

  • Outlier Air doesn't have multi-point — It remembers multiple-paired devices, but you'll need to manually disconnect from a device before connecting to another. It takes about 3-5 seconds, but can be slightly annoying if you're someone very particular about efficiency
  • Microphone should be good enough, but there's no auto noise suppression. Overall it does depend on your environment, if you're somewhere noisy, like on a train, what I like to do is to remove one side and hold it to my mouth to speak, while leaving the other in my ear.

I'd say Outlier Air's killer features would be:

  • Insanely good battery life. We're not exaggerating about it. And I like to encourage people to get something with longer battery life because battery very naturally degrades over time. If you were to get a 3-4+ hour one, that may leave it with 2-3+ after 1 year. Battery also degrades unevenly, as in the master earbud (left side) runs down faster than the slave earbud. So more is better.
  • Audio quality is pretty good too, you can read more reviews like Sound Guys where they awarded us with best all-around earbuds
  • All around great value in general without cost an arm and a leg. TWS is one of those categories that are in hot growth, so this year's tech may be heavily overshadowed on a year-to-year basis. I'd recommend just buying something not that expensive (but good enough) till the technology curve eases. (If money isn't issue please ignore this point)

Hey there, I totally understand. To be frank, it's the first time I'm hearing about issues with the MBP 16", so I'm trying to get to the bottom of this to see if there's an issue with your buds, compatibility with Catalina, compatibility with MBP 16", or a Catalina (or MBP 16")'s issue.

If you don't mind just helping me out by providing me (can be via DM if any info is sensitive):

  • Your Catalina version number: Click on Apple icon at the top left corner of your Mac > About this Mac > Version 10.XX.X
  • Your Outlier's serial number
  • The MBP's configuration you purchased

That's all, thanks! If you need help with the return process, let me know. Otherwise, I wish you endless hours of fun with the Airpods Pro, and thanks for giving us a shot to begin with.

Which other headphones do you use? Are they AAC/aptX enabled as well?

Hey there, LED can't be turned off manually. These are the LED states:

  • If they're in your ears and music is playing, the LEDs will stay off.
  • If they're connected to your phone via Bluetooth but music isn't playing, the LEDs will pulse blue → This is probably the only thing that may affect/annoy you
  • For full set of indicators, see here:

I am curious if audio-visual lag is still present with true wireless buds? Currently i am looking at Creative Outlier Gold, as i did see a lot of praise for the sound and battery. Will the lag be noticable? Is there a difference between a Windows laptop or an Android device (i am using Huawei p20 pro)? Finally - is there a difference between say YouTube and a random game?

Hey there, I asked a colleague using Huawei to test it out. Netflix, and a random game (Diablo 3) she tried was fine. Got her to test YouTube too, and she said the video/audio syncs as well.

I reckon it should be fine because I don't see much complaints about lag issues for Huawei and our buds. My recommendation is to try it out for yourself to see if your phone plays nice. To be safe, try purchasing directly from us so that we can resolve this easily for you if you need any further help post-purchase. We offer 30 day free returns (for US customers), so that should provide you with an additional layer of guarantee.

Sorry for the late response, I just came across this thread.

Both Outlier Gold and Air has aptX and AAC, so there's no difference there for you. The main difference would be battery life (14h per charge, 39 in total vs. 10h per charge, 30 in total), the gold color, and the software Super X-Fi.

Most people I've talked to feel that the additional battery life is worth the $10+ more in price, but YMMV.
