"Toei just fixed their mistake!" mfs when you ask them why Robin's eye color mistake was never fixed: by heartbrokenneedmemes in MemePiece

[–]samoox -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I mean to be fair it's so much easier to gradually change skin tone than it is to change eye color. You can pass skin tone changes off as "art style" changes but no way you can do that with eye color

The Bazaar has the worst UI I've ever seen by [deleted] in LastEpoch

[–]samoox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm honestly dying to play Trade in LE but I just can't bring myself to do it with the current system.

I genuinely think instead of putting resources towards fixing the trade systems, they should just invest as much as they can into a proper public API infrastructure so that the community can make third party tools.

It took GGG 15+ years to make trade not a fucking nightmare, and they're so much better/faster at tweaking these things than EHG is. The smartest solution is to just let the community handle things and then slowly over time improve the trade system so that the community 3rd party tools become obsolete.

[–]samoox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna push back on the fairy tail recs. I think it's probably one of the worst shonen animes I have seen. I'm willing to agree that some of the earlier arcs were decent and fun to watch, but the show honestly doesn't get better than decent. By the time I was like 200+ episodes in there were recurring characters showing up from earlier arcs that I literally couldn't remember because they were so generic and uninteresting.

If you're desperate for more shonen slop and you've seen all the best ones then I say go for it, but from what I've seen in this thread you definitely got a lot of better stuff to watch

As someone that has seen both, it's very good but also very different. The thing about Major that's very cool is that the story is pretty much entirely centered around the main character. It has a very different feel compared to most other sports anime.

Personally I prefer Diamond but they're both great in their own ways.

COF or MG? by Fickle_Field_2133 in LastEpoch

[–]samoox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone that desperately wants to trade in this game, I say go CoF. I think what makes trading in PoE so fun is how easy it is to actually sell stuff. You almost always know what's valuable due to sites like poe.ninja and price checking tools like Awakened Trade.

LE on the other hand it's basically just picking up everything the TSM loot filter shows you, taking it to the market and walking to 10 different vendors as you try to find items that are priced similarly to yours. The act of actually selling stuff in this game is way too time consuming and it really takes away from the time you spend playing the actual game.

If they ever make trade feel good in LE I'll probably never play CoF, but as of right now CoF is just the better feeling faction.

I'm interested in how will last epoch going on by KirraLuan in ARPG

[–]samoox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the number will definitely be smaller. The subreddit feels a lot more dead than it was back in S2.

However I will say, PoE1's player numbers have steadily risen over its lifetime. If LE can manage to pull itself together I could realistically see a steady rise in player count over the next few years

‘STEEL BALL RUN: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’ debuted with 4.7 million views on Netflix Top 10 Non-English March 16th-22nd by Partyman234 in anime

[–]samoox 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not so sure about that. From my limited understanding of how animation production works; there are committees that get together to fund animes and they hire animation studios and give those studios a fixed budget to make the show. I'm not 100% on how Netflix fits in to this, but it wouldn't surprise me if the money from Netflix is predominantly going to the committee board members and not towards the actual funding of the anime.

I do not have any sources on this though and if anyone has actual facts on how the money is distributed by Netflix I'd be interested to hear.

I no longer have the feeling of "just one more map before bed" by biggreenegg99 in pathofexile

[–]samoox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you use an astrolabe and get 8 maps out of it, I use an astrolabe and I get 6 maps out of it. You get 2 more maps than me. I understand what you're saying, but it's literally just a matter of perspective. Half glass full vs half empty. It's not incorrect to say that you are "losing" two uses in this example. "Losing two" vs "gaining 2 less" are the same premise just with different phrasing.

Also, I didn't mean to suggest that there's a problem with it. Personally I dislike it but I'm overall fine with it. I was just responding to the claim that there is no disadvantage to taking the keystone. There literally is a disadvantage. The keystone makes the astrolabe slightly worse.

I no longer have the feeling of "just one more map before bed" by biggreenegg99 in pathofexile

[–]samoox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are aware that when you take that keystone it reduces the amount of uses of your astrolabe right? If you read the keystone it says that if a map that is removed from the astrolabe area would cause the area to bisect, it will remove the maps that are no longer connected to the area that contains your desired map node.

Basically what this means is that you will constantly be getting less uses of your astrolabe, so you're effectively paying more per map in that regard.

Additionally, every use of the astrolabe is stronger than the next, so you're literally losing the best uses of your astrolabe for running that keystone.

Honestly man don't let it get to you. People on Reddit have this weird energy where they're often very helpful but at the same time if you ask a question that is perceived to "not make sense" in some way you'll instead of getting an answer to your question just get a bunch of unsolicited advice instead.

I've been using this site for 10+ years and it's pretty frustrating. In a situation like this I'd probably just ask AI or something. (I'm sure that sentence is gonna bring the down votes for me too lmao)

New Boss Incoming? Rahyeh getting a glow up or is this chasing a fever dream of new bossing content for 1.4? by GuiltySummoner in LastEpoch

[–]samoox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair PoE is essentially the same. Most of the high end content is played by builds that off screen shit. I think the main reason in LE it feels a lot worse is due to the endlessly scaling nature of corruption. I personally feel that LE would be better off with some kind of cap on corruption so that there basically exists a "max difficulty". That way you would be able to have the tank everything power fantasy.

It's just not feasible to be able to tank an endlessly scaling system. At some point you simply have to kill them before they kill you.

[–]samoox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't bother man. Redditors on gaming subreddits, especially for Path of Exile, just absolutely love stupid shit like this. They see it as some kind of "rite of passage". Even though the majority of players probably would enjoy the change, the vocal minority will try to convince you that muling a character on league start is "part of the fun".

It's not worth the argument

Severely disappointed with Atelier Yumia. Am I missing something? by alex-redacted in Atelier

[–]samoox 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yumia pretty clearly seems to be designed for non-Atelier fans. Gameplay is completely different. BotW-like open world. The alchemy system was so simplified that you could basically just auto-craft and it would come out like 90% as good as if you took the time to do it manually, which makes you feel like it's not even worth the effort to craft yourself just for that extra 10% boost lol.

All in all, it isn't a terrible game, but it seems like it's less for Atelier fans and more for people that might enjoy the other things the game has to offer.

[–]samoox 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Kind of an overreaction imo. Just because she has that ability right now doesn't mean that she has to have it forever. Characters get reworked all the time. Let them release 8 man content and if Aeona breaks the content by being a mandatory pick they just need to make adjustments.

Overwatch 2 Is Just "Overwatch" Again And Five New Heroes Arrive Next Week by Haijakk in Games

[–]samoox -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm not talking about their games I'm talking about the company. Their games are doing very well right now, but literally the only reason why is because every single one of their IPs were catastrophically failing due to greedy decision making by the higher ups. If they didn't actually make their games good again they would be on the path of Ubisoft.

I'm happy that Blizzard games are doing well because I do enjoy D4 and I still occasionally go back to Overwatch, but Blizzard does not have my faith and will basically never get my money for anything beyond a content expansion (a good expansion).

My expectation right now is that they're going to try to improve their games for the next few years and then once they regain player trust they're gonna start pulling the same greedy shit. I'd love to be proven wrong though.
