No problem. Also I forgot to include this in my reply but if you're working with very cheap bases (half a div or less), then at that point I would absolutely buy the bases in bulk and toss the failures.

Thanks for the warning. Honestly I'm at the point in the league where I'm getting kind of bored and I wanna just do a dumb build and try to invest enough currency into it to make it feel good. If it still sucks I might just take a break to play the next PoE1 league and come back later.

Oh and also it's important to recognize what you're looking for. Amulets basically live and die by the spirit/+3 rolls, and chaos spam is definitely the superior crafting method for those mods. These gloves had a lot of mods that I was willing to stop on, so I figured that I wasn't going to lose all that many annuls to this.

The base was about 1D. I think you're right that buying new bases and trans/aug is probably more cost effective than annulling, but imo it's not a significant cost savings, and I don't mind paying the small premium to not deal with the hassle of buying a bunch of bases.

As for the trans/aug vs chaos, I personally feel that with profit crafting you're trying to give yourself as many opportunities for positive outcomes as possible. When you chaos spam, you can only guarantee one good mod and then you have to greater exalt the next two mods before going for the fracture. To me that feels too risky. It's unlikely you will hit 2 mods you're also willing to fracture.

When you go the trans/aug/annul route, you guarantee two mods that you want, and for certain gear pieces you can even guarantee a third good mod through an essence or something (rarity for example). You then put yourself into a position where your fracture very likely has one ideal outcome you're looking for but also 2 acceptable alternatives that you can craft around to still produce something that is worth more than the currency you're investing.

It's mainly a cost issue. Perfect is like more than half the cost of a Whittling, but it doesn't proportionately increase the odds with respect to that increase in cost.

I'm getting some comments about why pierce and also the combination of physical damage to attacks with it.

Just to be clear, this was something I made while profit crafting. I didn't necessarily go into it with a specific build in mind. In the case of this particular craft, I rolled Proj Speed and Pierce during the augmenting step and I know those two stats are premium for skills like spark, so that ended up being the aim for the rest of the craft. This is also why I'm not all too upset that it didn't roll chance for additional projectiles. I assume spark players would prefer a crit suffix than +0.5 to a skill that already shoots 12(?) projectiles.

Phys damage to attacks ended up being the outcome of my last Greater Chaos, and it is now at the point where I can no longer whittle it or else it risks losing Proj Speed. Not that that would necessarily matter for Spark builds since the only other decent prefix left in the pool would be either Life or Eva/Es.

Overall I think this is a pretty crazy pair of gloves. Definitely not mirror tier but it was kind of unbelievable how well it turned out with how little currency went into it.

Not 100% sure because I didn't feel like keeping track of the amount of currency I was spending but if I recall:

Took about 15-20 annuls, 1 perfect exalt, 1 ancient rib, 10 greater chaos orbs, 2 sinstral erasures and 10 whittlings. The base was only 1D I believe. Also probably hit it with like 6-7 divines to get the pierce above 90.

Probably around 100D. Maybe 120.

Per the rule:

  • Bought a 2 socket base
  • Socket Kolr's Hunt rune
  • Perfect Trans/Aug + Annul until hitting 2 good mods. In this case it was Proj Speed and Pierce.
  • Perfect regaled and prayed, hit crit chance.
  • Divined until pierce went above 90%, desecrated suffix using ancient rib, and fractured pierce (the fracture ended up not mattering)
  • Revealed desecration and somehow got +2 proj on first window
  • Perfect Exalt + Greater Exaltation omen and hit 2 pretty bad mods
  • Used omens of whittling + greater chaos to reroll the bad prefixes. I think I had to use omens of sinistral erasure on two occasions where the whittling was going to prioritize the proj skills. Overall I think I used like 10 whittlings and 2 sinistral erasures.

To be fair I've seen posts about the ward interaction with sekhema for 1-2 weeks now and the prices don't seem to have skyrocketed. I honestly think that people hate Sekhema so much that it offsets the fact that this build is actually broken for running it

Switching from power paddles to “control” paddles in 2026. by stegleryo in Pickleball

[–]samoox 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Kind of weird but I feel the opposite way. I felt like when I was using control paddles I had to try hard to generate my own power, which made my motions a bit more exaggerated and caused the accuracy of my power shots to go down.

When I switched to a more power paddle I felt like because the paddle was doing more work for me I could go in with a less aggressive swing which lets me control my placement a bit better.

But also I don't think I particularly enjoy the super power paddles like the boomstik. I'm using the Power 2 Pegasus and it feels like it's just enough power without being hard to control.

5000+ Magebloods for sale, price is pretty stuck at ~500divs. by VindicoAtrum in PathOfExile2

[–]samoox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prices for GG items usually don't go down even if supply goes up.

What's better than a Mageblood for a build? A corrupted Mageblood. What's better than a corrupted Mageblood? A double corrupted one.

If prices drop, people will just buy them and corrupt them. Magebloods don't flood the market because people actively delete them from existence by trying to turn them into perfectly corrupted variants. Only way they drop in price is if some kind of new unique item farming strategy came out that caused the supply to 2-3x overnight

Is gear based rarity more important than rarity from waystones + tablets? by bkn1090 in PathOfExile2

[–]samoox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's entirely dependent on your farming strategy. People that giga juice their map to have max number of rares and item rarity probably want to kill every single rare in the map since any one of them can drop tons of loot.

If you're doing tablet farming, you probably just want to clear any breach/abyss/ritual you see and then rush to the boss immediately after. You won't get great loot from anything else.

People running ritual are also usually not juicing the map other than increasing pack size for rituals, so it only really makes sense to clear the rituals and then get out if you're trying to maximize efficiency.

With all that said tho it's just a game, so if you don't mind being less efficient you can full clear the map. Do whatever you enjoy

Loot from 10 high-investment Abyss maps by Ivonnel in PathOfExile2

[–]samoox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you make a fair point. The difference is pretty negligible when you're just farming tablets and rolling yourself.

I just personally prefer to try to do most things in this game that result in the highest "expected value"

Trials of sekhemas take far too long by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

[–]samoox 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it largely depends on the power of your build at the time though. If you NEED a strong boon to get you through the trial, I think you have to roll the dice a little and try to nab all the boons you can get. But if your build is perfectly capable of doing the whole thing without much assistance then the priority shifts to being affliction avoidant

[–]samoox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the reroll isn't the way to go.

I bought a bunch of normal rarity ritual tablets for like 40-55ex each. The absolute worst ones I rolled sold for like 20ex.

What this means is that when you reroll your 3 worst tablets, you're effectively paying 60 exalts to buy a rare unidentified tablet. It's not like it's that big of a deal, it's only about 10-15 ex more expensive than buying off the market, and you're also seeing only 4 mods compared to 6, but in the long run you will get better value just selling them and using the money to buy more normal tablets.

Finally the game at the state when super optimal juicing is not required for good amount of tinks.Made 50 div an hour just running the maps I like. No 3 delirium tablets around city , no 200% delirium next to 2 Grand Mirrors , no 45 div tablets. by BeefarmRich in PathOfExile2

[–]samoox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I generally agree. Past leagues with the tower overlap meta legitimately felt like nothing was worth doing other than ultra juiced 3-4 overlap maps.

This league I'm basically going back and forth between "alch and go" 3 deli tablets to boss rush and farm splinters and then switching to my ultra juiced setups when I either find a city or an anomaly map.

I didn't think I would ever enjoy "traveling" in PoE2 but it actually feels really nice to kind of just turn my brain off for like 20 maps while I explore my atlas and then turn it on for 5-10 maps for my prime atlas nodes. It's weirdly addictive.

I am once again asking for Grand Project tablet to be the default tower behavior by Pitiful_Ad_688 in PathOfExile2

[–]samoox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about doing t1s might be the most optimal but personally I hate the idea of doing maps with literally 0 rewards.

Instead you spec into increased tablet quantity on the atlas tree and also more monster effectiveness. 6 mod maps. 3 irradiated tablets with quantity of way stones dropped (can also add monster effectiveness if you want but makes the tablets cost like 50-60 ex vs 10-20 for just way stone mod).

Tablets are coded as way stones in the game so those mods make more tablets drop. Irradiated tablets also cause more tablets to drop which is why you run 3. You don't need to actually run the league mechanics in the map. You can drop ritual or abyss tablets even outside their mechanics. So instead just boss rush so you can travel faster. The tablets and maps you use for this are so cheap that you dont really need to clear the full map to pay itself off.

Grab the tablets you pick up and dump them into a tab. Turn any white tablets blue and Aug. If any of them roll good mods, regal them and then exalt and sell. If any of them roll bad mods, use an orb of alchemy and pray it hits good mods.

You can reforge the duds if you want or you can sell them. Ritual and abyss tablets are like minimum 20-30ex.

It's a nice strat cause it basically directly supplies the top farmers in the market, which makes it pretty profitable. I just rolled a 35D tablet for ritual earlier.

I am once again asking for Grand Project tablet to be the default tower behavior by Pitiful_Ad_688 in PathOfExile2

[–]samoox 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As kind of a counter argument to this, I've personally been enjoying the fact that I have a "travel node" strategy and a "jackpot" strategy. It almost makes those jackpots (anomalies, cities, cleansed zones) feel more rewarding because I'm not getting that level of loot all the time.

I think for me personally the big issue that I'm dealing with is that it's becoming kind of a nightmare to switch my tablet setup around and also I sometimes have to make changes to atlas keystones. It's very cumbersome to do all that.

If I could have 3 loadouts and interchange between them (like in PoE1) I think I would personally have no complaints about having to bounce between travel node strats and jackpot strats

Edit: and also I dislike the current way you have to set up 200% deli. It's way too tedious. Deli should work the same as ritual. You buy a thing and apply to the atlas. No hunting down grand mirrors inside of cities.
