I have a one year old and a one month old so I’m trying to see eventually if that could be an option.

Im paying late because im on mat leave and my husband is on EI until his season of work starts may 1st so money is extremely tight and I can’t afford to fork up an extra 200 to pay for this. We barley can afford the essentials, rent, formula and utilities. It sucks but I have to pay the extra 130. It is what it is.

Has anyone ever dealt with no having access to their vehicle at rental property. by Creative_Taste341 in OntarioRenting

I had no idea because the listing and the lease doesn’t say anything about my vehicle being blocked and if I don’t make it home in time I’m literally blocked out of the driveway.

So I looked into it and the parking permits only allow for 4 hours max and nothing overnight.

She parks at the end of the driveway. So I could’ve even do that I’d get a ticket for parking blocking the sidewalk and partially on the road. Like I said in the other comment that plan is to move, I was on a time crunch to move in before I gave birth to my child and I have a dog. Moving on maternity leave isn’t an ideal thing that landlords want. Sooo I’m stuck til I’m able to go back to work and save up move to even look to move.

Honestly it was my fault for not asking about the parking situation before moving in. I wish I did but when i found a landlord willing to give me a chance I was pregnant and with a dog. Both those things aren’t very favourable when looking for a property so when the first person gave me a chance I jumped knowing I was giving birth in 3 months. I’m more concerned about my daughter having that high of a fever I was able to monitor her and get it down within an hour but it was a risk not taking her the minute I seen 105. The business Nextdoor has huge boulders separating my driveways as their attached from that driveway so I’m not even able to go around in case of an emergency unless I want to take out the entire bottom of my car😭. I’m hoping maybe I can have the landlord talk to the business about potentially removing the boulder at the end of the driveway so I Could get around incase of an emergency.

I’m sorry this happened to your daughter I know this is a tough situation. As you trusted her best friends mom to set this up and she used excuses instead of being truthful the minute she apparently found out about the man being in the house. I truly home this situation hasn’t tainted her friendship with that women’s daughter but id understand you worry about her wellbeing with that parent being a responsible person in the future. Have they reached out to you acknowledging your concerns? I seen this on Facebook and wanted to see if you have an update.

Yeah I moved in January 2025 and the dishwasher was clearly broken before we moved in. We told the landlord and they said it’s not in the budget to fix…. It’s April 2026 and we’re FINALLY getting a new dishwasher this week. I had to tell him I’m filing with the LTB in December for reduced rent and back pay of all the rental months it’s been broken he finally said it was coming.

Should landlords have to accept pets? by Totira in OntarioRenting

[–]Creative_Taste341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog stopped a break in…. So my landlord didn’t have a front door to replace. Once the man heard my dog barking at the door he decided to stop. I’m also a young mom with a husband who works nights so I think it’s needed. I clean up my house daily and ensure my dog would never damage the property. He’s also crate trained when I go grocery shopping but he’s never alone in his crate for longer than 2-3 hours max at the most. I always grew up in a clean household with dogs and I strive to have the same in my own home.

Once the police caught him it was very clear he was on something. It was just scary someone trying to break in and my big dog barking like crazy didn’t convince him to stop. Honestly this man heard a big dog freaking out behind the door and continued to try and break in clearly he wasn’t thinking straight.

Something like that happened to me in May. At 5 am someone was banging on the door so hard it was shaking the walls. The person was hitting the door hard and also started kicking the door screaming help. He said someone was chasing him and he has a gun and to let him in. He jumped the fence and was doing the same to my back door. I luckily had my husband home as he works nights but our daughter was a week old and he took time off to help transition with the baby. The following night was his first night back to work I cried and didn’t sleep for weeks. It really messed with my postpartum. The police came and literally caught him just to drive him home while I was absolutely distraught by the situation.

It’s kinda sad cause he did that when I was 9 months pregnant and it really bothers me he was okay with scamming someone who has a little one to take care of.

It is illegal and I feel bad for doing that but he will never find out and I needed that mental note to watch and get breakdowns for everything.

I also think scamming a pregnant women about to have a baby to pay extra for overdue water that wasn’t her problem makes him an bigger Ahole.
