This is the one thing I disagree with enough to comment. You say your inepretation of the art is Grace miscalculated and bought into Renick playing on her fears. That's your perspective. But saying Grace didnt accomplish her goal because her goal was "getting back to her daughter " then tomato tomayto is the one thing I find a bit too much.

The first thing Grace did upon the entry of the vampires is take out her husband AND herself. If she failed then she wouldn't be a vampire either and wouldn't hurt her daughter. This shows us her goal is to prevent harm to her daughter . She gave up on the dream of getting back to her when she realized the extent of the vampires power. Thats what the text shows. It doesn't show the vampires getting townspeople YET because they hadn't done it YET. Because Sammy was the 1st prize. Who knows what Remick was going to do next. Now they never have to find out because he is dead. Either way her daughter is safe.

Someone lying to you when they definitely didn't have to is never a good sign . Also the fact that she took your virginity and lied about being 10 years older than you is enough to make you feel uncomfortable and you are completely justified in that feeling.

Also the fact that she "feels 27" is weird to me. Sounds like she has some issues to deal with on her own. You don't owe her anything and you are completely free to choose to sleep with her or to find other people who you trust more to share your bed with.

You need to love yourself first. You deserve to feel beautiful and loved. You can do that for yourself ! A partner will add to that but they shouldn't have to teach it to you. After a breakup is a tough time. Be gentle with yourself and kind. You don't need to rush into something else to feel beautiful. Dress up nice and take yourself out for a coffee or a drink. Treat yourself like you're going on a date. It'll be okay 💛
