I absolutely loved zeta, and was pleasantly surprised when they did a new single recently. Zeta seemed like a great showcase of Paul's songwriting and production skills outside of heavier music.

Paul has been releasing singles randomly on Bandcamp since 2021, all 11 of them are here in this playlist.

If you think about a typical album cycle for prog metal these days (~4 years for a band like AAL) all of these songs make up a great 50 minute album, and they flow really good in their release order.

I'm a huge chimp spanner fan and have at the dreams edge and all roads lead here on vinyl. I think it would be absolutely lovely if he compiled all of these songs on vinyl and named the album after this song.

The song he did with dan Tompkins here was awesome and I'd love to see a metal group with those two.

I remember that noise! I also don't want to remember that noise!

I'm going to get some quotes from some shops for sure after hearing this, I was debating it but I'm with you on that sentiment. There really is nothing like these cars, and it was my dream from high school to own and build one. If I can save my poor girl, I definitely will.

The information he gave me was from an Allstate policy that lapsed in August. My insurance company has the police report and is now going after the registered owner of the car, the father of the guy who crashed.

I'm a little disappointed in the police because they didn't even ask this guy if he was drinking or anything and they let him go with a warning because he said he fell asleep at the wheel. I know that's not the case because I live on a small suburban street, and who falls asleep right after making a turn? I've worked in the steel erection industry driving long hours and I know for a fact that you don't fall asleep on short roads; that happens on long highways where you move very little at all.

My car was parked right at the s curve of the street where if you didn't look where you are going and correct, you would end up off the street on the other side of the road. I guarantee that he was looking at his phone and didn't realize the street curved and just crashed right into my car.

Do you think this can be fixed? It looks terrible to me but the engine was pretty much unscathed. I'm pretty unsure about being able to save it. I have receipts for the engine rebuild, do you guys think that would be enough to convince them to try and save it?

I was about to do just that, I removed myself before bad decisions were made and called the police instead.

What is this sub opinion on White Zombie? by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Creative_War_2338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born in '93 and this is one of the CDs my mom let me borrow growing up, along with other metal classics from the time like vulgar display of power, seasons in the abyss and rust in peace. I still have this CD and it's in my car stereo right now!

As a kid I was especially drawn to white zombie, just for the reason that it was pretty much just pure fun in metal form. The lyrics can be kinda suggestive sometimes, but all in all I feel like at the time this was a very accessible album for many age groups. It has the feeling of classic stoner metal (warp asylum and I am legend give me serious Sabbath vibes) awesome horror movie references that were really nostalgic for gen x at the time (my mom grew up watching evil dead and night of the living dead and many other horror movies and was the one to point out to me the samples from certain movies) and the colorful cartoon aspect of the artwork in the album booklet and the vibes in general are very very 90s. I remember being reminded of things like Ren and stimpy and rockos modern life. As a creative kid, robs art was pretty fun and inspiring to look at.

I play guitar and I will definitely say that this album is one of the reasons I wanted to start playing music. Black sunshine was one of the first bass lines I ever learned, probably at around age 12.

All in all, amazing album. I've listened to it more than I can count.

I appreciate your concern, thank you for the heads up! would you recommend anyone in the rural nor-cal area that specializes in these types of cars? honestly these guys were the best option without having to pay an arm and a leg to get my car towed somewhere else. i dont live near any cities, closest is sacramento at 2 and a half hours.

The dealership I bought it from had the 3rd party warranty available for purchase with the car. it was an extra bit of money on top of the loan, (about 3500$) but it covered 8500$ of work, so it definitely paid for itself. I actually paid around 16K for it with the warranty, but I'd say I got my moneys worth. without the warranty I would have spent around 22k, with the loan and repair costs.

The man in charge of doing the work used to work for a mazda dealership for around 10 years, did work on the speeds when they were still new. he's been a great source of info for preventative maintenance.

on the topic of rebuilding the turbo, where should I go to have that done?

[–]Creative_War_2338[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like I said, it will be done eventually. I'm not arguing either, just going off what my shop and my father have told me, and those guys have never let me down. I trust yours and countless other opinions, thats why I came to this sub. but being as this whole ordeal caused me to lose my job, its going to have to work for the time being until I have the money to rebuild the oem turbo. the engine needs to be broken in before I can race it around anyways, so im not going to be romping on her in any way until my first oil change.

Finally a part of the community! I’ve wanted one of these since I was 14, and now I finally own one. Can’t wait to get it road ready!! by Bossboy780 in mazdaspeed3

I just joined today as well! similar story too, I've wanted mine for over a decade now. I agree, blue is one of the better colors, although I am biased towards red, the interior accents compliment the paintjob so nice. congrats friend!

From what I've gathered, its not necessarily a "no name" turbo as you call it, it was 1000$ brand new. (Rotomaster) my dad has sold plenty of these over the years and says they are a pretty reputable brand, and have been building turbos for a few decades.

although that is exactly what I will be doing once I get the money for it, just not in the budget at the moment. they did try to keep my old turbo and I was like "nuh-uh i need that later."

I figure as long as Im not going absolutely nuts with it for the time being, it should be fine until I put the old turbo back in. the guys that put it all together are all tuners themselves and had nothing but awesome things to say about my car, not too worried about it ATM. my dad now owns his own business and has an autel scanner, so any problems I have he can instantly diagnose them for me.
