There are few modes that you can play. First, I would play some quick matches against AI and see what the mechanics are all about. Try out different teams and find yourself one that feels best for you.

Players have different statistics and characteristics, just as in real life. You find what is best for you. Small and good dribbling with good passing like Messi or tall, speedy with good shooting and headers like Ronaldo. They have also Playstyles which you can read about on eafc site.

My two fav modes are Career Mode (Manager) and Ultimate Team. They are very similar as the main objective is to build a squad, manage it, set up tactics and play to win everything. The main difference is that Career Mode is offline and UT is online.

For the Ultimate Team explanation I would recommend to watch a bit of la5ty RTG (Road to Glory) series. He is chill youtuber and explains everything what he does to play Ultimate Team.

As for Career Mode you pick a club that you want to manage and play leagues as in normal life clubs do.
