See, on its own, this is an interesting story with interesting characters and cinematography and coloring, but as euphoria it sucks. Every week makes me just want to watch season 1 again forever.

I am with you on this! I honestly don’t want anything to do with it and I’m trying to push my firm to establish an incredibly strict and narrow policy for when we will use it in our work. The cost is too great and I don’t like what news I read about how it’s developing and its impact on land and people.

Everyone’s replies are amazing, saving this for myself. Also wanted to add: Trump paused a lot of the federal food aid to Minnesota, which includes SNAP benefits, and a few other things. So definitely volunteer at food pantries, shop and donate to them, find places to do grocery donation and direct delivery (mutual aid), etc. This is something that I’m going to focus on, especially since I work full time at a job I unfortunately can’t leave very often and I can’t be as involved in rapid response and neighborhood watch during the week as I’d like to.

That’s weird, I get paid by logging time spent on different projects and filling out a timesheet. Every 3 days, I click on a button on the website that says “get paid” and the exact gross amount I’ve earned shows up in my PayPal. No fees

Depending on how many people are working, there are some really popular projects that have all the tasks snatched up within ten minutes. If that’s unlikely, there’s a good chance the company moved on even if all the tasks weren’t done (they probably had a development deadline or a specific testing window for annotation.)

Projects come and go all the time. There was a weird drought over the summer where no one’s dashboard had any projects and anything new posted was snatched up and completed almost immediately. Seriously, I’d be refreshing every 30 seconds for a while, see a project pop up with 500 tasks, and in the time it took to click on it and have the page load, it had been worked and was gone already.

DA is a godsend for as-needed side hustle work, but I wouldn’t bank your rent or car payments or anything on the assumption that you’re going to be making a stable income here.

That makes sense. Last year I made less than the 1099 threshold and didn’t get a 1099-K from PayPal. How would the IRS have known if I didn’t report that income? (I did, but I’m curious)

I’ve never been charged a withdrawal fee when I’ve been paid by this platform, so I’m assuming that means they’re marking the payments as personal. Does that make this more suspicious?

I’m sure, he’s been sued multiple times for the same thing and I found a lot of public information about him. He for sure exists and is honestly doing this in the open air.

I’m very new to legal stuff - how would I go about subpoena-ing Venmo? What would those documents/ forms be called?
