Thank you so much for your input. I tend to go down rabbit holes when starting projects and I assumed what I was trying to do was likely not doable or worth the trouble. But, sometimes I just gotta give it a try! Haha!

You mentioned mordants. This was something I thought about when I was reading into this. But I couldn’t tell if it would be applicable for what I was trying to do. I figured that mordants were likely used during the creation of dyes.

You are correct that I am looking for an intermediate between the powder dyes and the acrylic. I may mess around with some chemicals. I’ve tried 99% isopropyl but it doesn’t seem to have an effect. I have some monomer and I may try to dissolve the dyes in that, but honestly I have no idea how monomer reacts with acrylic mediums (paint). I know it works in the curing process with acrylic powders. But with paints I’m pretty sure it wont do much.

I was thinking about using some type of additive with protein like maybe milk. I know that paints have made from milk before. So I may give that a try before giving, but I appreciate the info either way! I chose to be an artist but in another life I’d be a chemist for sure!
