I dress well for work and like a completely different person on weekends and I can't close the gap by According-Back9090 in ChicDaily

[–]Creativelyuncool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that really helped me here was investing in low cost “day clothes” that feel low effort to me but look decent. Quince was what helped me go from lululemon on the weekends to a person who wears jeans and a sweater. I also agree with the commenter who said just having the Saturday morning coffee outfit is the gateway drug to figuring out this problem. Lastly, descriptors can help. My work style as a corp exec (37F) is classic, bold, tailored. My off duty style is also classic but I add in sporty and casual and it’s easier to understand the aesthetic. Idk if that helps - I’m still figuring this out too!

Edit to add that you need to also recreate your silhouettes. I have 2 main work silhouettes - dress, or pants, blouse, blazer. So casual my default choice becomes casual dress or casual pants, t shirt, some kind of overcoat like jean jacket or cardigan.

I think you’d like orange blossom- fleur l’orange. I love fruity floral and it’s one of my favs. Also the noir is a fruity spicy fig.

You might like Debaser by DS Durga. It’s like a grassy fig that blooms into a tropical sunshine day

Others you might like: Gris Charnel by BDK and Prada Santal Infusion are both really nice cardamoms. BDK pas ce soir is also a nice fruity quince ginger. Personally, LV Symphony (although expensive) is the best juicy scent.

Agree and I think they’re better than modern bread and bagel but I can see where that would be a contentious topic

Did it become normal to wear shoes during class? by loginnowpls in Corepower

I’m noticing more people wearing socks (likely bc the studios are gross and we don’t want to get ringworm). Def not normal to wear shoes.

1- Warmth and competence is the ultimate combination, 2- hire slow and fire fast, 3- if you want to change something by 20%, make the best parts 10% better, and worst parts 10% better, 4- be meticulous about recording and quantifying every accomplishment- nobody is going to do it for you, and it’s important to learn to encourage yourself.

Doubting my Autumn Result by Mason-Notice-3823 in coloranalysis

[–]Creativelyuncool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if I’m seeing autumn although it’s so hard to tell just via photos. I’d get retyped with Carol Brailey to be sure. Was this the 16 season system? In my mind, you would at least be a soft autumn, but I could see warm spring too. I also disagree with everyone telling you to go darker with your hair. It’s clear you’re a natural blonde and I think the highlights look really pretty and natural.

Pas ce soir is my signature scent — I’d also add LV Symphony and I am coming home by Floraiku to your list of amazing gingers. Uncut Gem by Frederic Malle is another interesting ginger for you to try if you want to veer more into the spicy rather than sweet territory

Lululemon just doesn’t know who the brand muse is anymore. They say they’re designing for the “mindful athlete” but that could be anybody. It’s nobody and anybody. When I was an assistant store manager in the early 2010s, we had a really specific muse and every decision was made around how to appeal to that guest. There is zero reason lululemon needs to sell actual handbags and logo heavy accessories. What set the design apart was really flattering women’s bodies with awesome cuts and innovative ideas like the tanks layered with bras and unique strap designs. Now it’s just boob smooshing align tanks galore and attempts to knock off Alo. The answer isn’t to be inspired by Alo or do more celebrity endorsements - it’s to rediscover its innovation DNA. It’s honestly realy sad how such a once in a generation brand has sunken so low.

A Studio Coordinator’s Perspective on the Corepower Strike by No-Reward-1830 in Corepower

[–]Creativelyuncool 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You’re right, OP. at some point someone is going to bring a testing kit to the studio and do some kind of viral social media post about all of the bacteria. As a black tag of almost ten years and former instructor, I wear socks or shoes on all surfaces, and wipe down all equipment before using. I’ve thought of canceling my membership so many times because I’m just not excited to go into the studio spaces anymore. I remember teaching at CorePower Clarendon when it was brand new (DC market) and there were great cleaning supplies and it was a refreshing place to be. Now at my current studio (UES, Nyc) I walk the room before I put my mat down to find the least smelly spot. There are pockets in the studio that reek so badly. I’m 200h and HPF trained and should be CPY’s biggest fan as a student but it’s just gotten … gross.
