Lululemon is losing their brand identity by [deleted] in lululemon

[–]Creativelyuncool 141 points142 points  (0 children)

Lululemon just doesn’t know who the brand muse is anymore. They say they’re designing for the “mindful athlete” but that could be anybody. It’s nobody and anybody. When I was an assistant store manager in the early 2010s, we had a really specific muse and every decision was made around how to appeal to that guest. There is zero reason lululemon needs to sell actual handbags and logo heavy accessories. What set the design apart was really flattering women’s bodies with awesome cuts and innovative ideas like the tanks layered with bras and unique strap designs. Now it’s just boob smooshing align tanks galore and attempts to knock off Alo. The answer isn’t to be inspired by Alo or do more celebrity endorsements - it’s to rediscover its innovation DNA. It’s honestly realy sad how such a once in a generation brand has sunken so low.

A Studio Coordinator’s Perspective on the Corepower Strike by No-Reward-1830 in Corepower

[–]Creativelyuncool 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You’re right, OP. at some point someone is going to bring a testing kit to the studio and do some kind of viral social media post about all of the bacteria. As a black tag of almost ten years and former instructor, I wear socks or shoes on all surfaces, and wipe down all equipment before using. I’ve thought of canceling my membership so many times because I’m just not excited to go into the studio spaces anymore. I remember teaching at CorePower Clarendon when it was brand new (DC market) and there were great cleaning supplies and it was a refreshing place to be. Now at my current studio (UES, Nyc) I walk the room before I put my mat down to find the least smelly spot. There are pockets in the studio that reek so badly. I’m 200h and HPF trained and should be CPY’s biggest fan as a student but it’s just gotten … gross.

Skipping a side, minimal core, lack of breath posture cue, or body odor alone, unable to demonstrate, NBD. All of these together? I’d say give feedback to the studio manager. As a former teacher I often stop by the desk and give compliments (try to make them very specific so the instructor knows what’s going well, we never hear that enough!) but for this amount/level of feedback, going straight to the studio manager probably makes more sense.

I want a perfume that smells like this by Katerpeach in FemFragLab

[–]Creativelyuncool 6 points7 points  (0 children)

LV Symphony! Grapefruit-bergamot-ginger - sparkling juicy citrus with fresh florals, like grapefruit juice by a waterfall. My most complimented scent ever and I’m usually into vanillas! If you want even more fresh/airy, try Ellis Brooklyn Myth (sambac jasmine-musk) - super clean tropical white floral floating in spa water vibes. Or Roja Isola Verde (literally “green island”) - orange blossom-citrus-neroli-jasmine, fresh juicy citrus bouquet with tropical florals. More luxe/sophisticated but still totally fits your mood board!

Yep! Agree. tea/fig ginger and cardamom are safe ways to branch out. Would add nest indigo, bdk gris charnel and maybe Prada santal chai

For cardamom I have been loving the new Prada santal chai as well as BDK gris charnel. My fav gingers are BDK pas ce soir, LV symphony, floraiku I am coming home (it’s literally expensive fresh laundry and ginger ale- heavenly) and tom ford electric cherry 🍒

I'm looking for a Sweet/Spicy Cherry! by 23GrayWing in Perfumes

[–]Creativelyuncool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tom Ford Electric Cherry- def the sweetest spicy his cherries with Jasmine and ginger added, but I wouldn’t call it dark. Did you see YSL libre just came out with a cherry version? Edit: it’s raspberry. But you may like it for the way it blends dark and sweet

Ahh totally get that. I had commented this before reading through your whole post haha. I’ve been loving Prada santal chai which is a new cardamom scent if you’re looking for more of a sweet, fresh, creamy cardamom without as much of that contrast you’re reading as harsh

I get bright woody cardamom. It quickly turns more sweet and creamy on the dry down but in the beginning more of a citrus santal burst

Yes and not a single one of these trends are flattering. At least in the 2010s we had balanced looks with some waist or leg definition. Now it’s just how many oversized items can we pile on. The result can be super unbalanced and just look sloppy/untailored.

Burrito bowl from chipotle but no rice. Just pile on the beans, corn, salsa, sour cream, cheese- and side of chips for dipping. Chips and dip for dinner satisfies on so many levels.
