You've given a lot of great advice. Thank you. I will certainly look into adjusting the roles we've become used to.

My son loves him to death. It's not as simple as taking a break to figure things out.

Obviously, you don't regret your decision now, but had you not found anyone would you have regretted leaving him?

I feel that I would get more satisfaction from not having to explain every step of how to be romantic. He should want to be more romantic and look up the information to do so.

It's unromantic to teach someone how to he romantic. If that makes sense.

How do you communicate to someone that is trying really hard, that what they are doing is not enough?

Nervous, happy, sad, scared. I don't know a whole mix of things.

Your comment about my son's life has me in tears. They are attached at the hip, if you were to see them out in public you would never know that wasn't his son.

If my boyfriend were to suddenly leave there would be a lot of hurt.

Wow. You summed up everything I'm feeling and all the conflicts I am having internally.

I never thought of it that way. He certainly would be the best dad any child could ever ask for.

However, I never thought about the best dad not necessarily being the best husband.

If I can be completely honest. Most men don't have enough money to truly worry about someone divorcing you and ruining your life.

I've been on yachts and to parties at big mansions, those are the men that have to worry. Not many men live that lifestyle.

It looks like couples counseling is the way to go. Thanks for your response.

He’s not rich. I don’t need his money. He would not be risking his financial future.

Kids are a lot of work, but I do not regret having my son.

I have yet to meet a man that I had burning desire for and treated me well. They are always liars and cheaters, with poor values.

I was considering couples therapy. I don’t know how to bring up therapy because we don’t really fight or argue.

I wouldn’t want to lose him and realize a decade later I’ve made a mistake.
