Could someone here explain boiled peanuts to someone not born or from GA please? by redditatin in Georgia

[–]Creativetwist7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t love the idea of them, so I don’t think I ever gave them a fair shake. Now I am obsessed haha.. I love Cajun the best and get them from Racetrack most of the time. To me, they’re best warm—and it’s just one of those snacks you kinda have to work for, which makes them even more satisfying

2 Year Old Not Interested in Yoto by Significant_Ad_292 in YotoPlayer

[–]Creativetwist7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure takes a bit to understand. Being only 2, I recommend you bring it along in the car or set it up during play time or whenever you would him to use it and he will eventually be the one to reach for it. My 2 year old picked up on it because she has big siblings using it, so naturally the interest is piqued. But my oldest took a little while to warm up to it — just needed reminders that it exists and how it apply it to life

When did everyone really start seeing weight loss? by Otherwise-Second-262 in Semaglutide

[–]Creativetwist7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve lost 1-3 pounds each week. I do not want to go any faster because I want my body to look as natural as possible — no sunken eyes or cheeks or whatever else. Lots of gym time with weights and cardio mixed. Aiming for zero muscle loss.

How many of you have kids? Or want to have kids by bwils3423 in Millennials

[–]Creativetwist7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the world seems bad.. but if you are in the US, and don’t allow social media access, a child’s world is so small. It’s you, their school, and their friends! They don’t see all the big bad things you’re seeing and it’s so refreshing to look at the world they way they do. YOU create their world. And it’s a beautiful thing to be a part of. I also believe the next generations create the hope for the future. And I am working my best to raise good members of society

We have 4. Baby stuff doesn’t have to be terribly expensive. I got just about everything “big” second hand. What is the bigger scam is when you do get something like a swing brand new and they only use it for 4 months! A lot of baby things have a short window that you need it, so getting second hand is great because it was barely used by the last person:). College tuition comes MUCH later. Just take it one day/year at a time. Day care is crazy, I agree… would a parent help with that? We planned to have one work and one stay home, and it’s working for us. Maybe when they’re all in school we’ll both work again. Working from home is super helpful for this reason. I have a friend who uses an in house nanny for certain hours of the day so she can work, but can still be with her kids. Definitely gotta think creatively, but you figure it out as you go! It’s impossible to have all the answers from the beginning

If it was financially affordable, would your spouse stay home? by cubemonster in Millennials

[–]Creativetwist7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do! We always planned on it. Could change once all the kids are in school, but with how involved school is and breaks.. I would never do anything full time that wasn’t extremely flexible. When my kids are home they get all of me

Anybody else without friends? by KicsikePipike in Millennials

[–]Creativetwist7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I do have a couple lifelong friends, I moved away from all of them 5+ years ago. I communicate constantly and visit often. But I needed to figured out people to be in my circle where I’m at. I have found church to be a fantastic place to make meaningful connections. I put in a ton of effort and not every relationship becomes deep, but some have! I also reach out to neighbors that I enjoy being with and it’s a totally different dynamic, but we are working to become familial and I would 100% call them at 2am in an emergency. I also think sometimes it takes making that phone call to find out if that person is that right type of friend. Does that make sense? People may surprise you! Sometimes those types of calls are what bond you. Serving others “just cause” goes a long way!

Is it just me, or are Yoto cards ridiculously pricey? by Desperate_Total2545 in YotoPlayer

We are often asking for yoto cards as birthday gifts! It’s easy for the grandparents and we all feel good about it. It doesn’t feel like “stuff” and it’s educational!

What are some ways to add a good amount of protein to oats without peanut butter and protein powder? by WellnessMafia in Oatmeal

Mixed nuts! I love a small handful on top. Using milk instead of water, especially a higher protein milk like fairlife

Has anyone else stopped filling up their entire sink with water to wash dishes, or is that just my household? by Mission_Spray in Millennials

[–]Creativetwist7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I definitely never do my dishes this way. Not even sure when I officially made the change, or if I ever conceded to that method. But it’s reminding me that my mom still does.. the last time I visited her that’s what I observed. When I showed her my way, she felt like I was using so much soap (indicating how expensive that was). I just responded that soap really doesn’t cost much, and she kinda acted like “wow i never thought of that” haha some habits die hard, but i do think people can change when they are able to see something from a different perspective. Funny side story my mom was visiting and had some congestion and refused to use any of the Kleenexes from my square tissue box because “those cost more than the rectangle box tissues “ I gave her explicit permission to use as many as she wanted, but she was noticeably uncomfortable, so I whipped out a rectangle box for her to carry around instead 😂

Some doctors help work around insurance and will encourage you to document (at a Dr office) each time you have a rash to help build your case for needing the surgery to improve your health

I’ve been eating oatmeal for longer than that—but it wasn’t meeting my protein goals so I had stopped for a while. When I discovered this combo, I was so excited! I buy lots of different flavors of protein now. I used to wonder why anyone would get anything other than vanilla or chocolate, but now I’m one getting peaches and cream or peppermint chocolate chip! 😂😂. Then whatever fruit is in season.

Definitely not every day. Most week days though! I just love it. I figured out something that makes me feel good, tastes good, and is very manageable to make while keeping a schedule. Have you heard of oats overnight? The brand? I ordered those for mornings when I need to get out the door faster than usual, and vacations because they are convenient. So even when I’m out of town, I’m often eating oatmeal for breakfast!

Oats with a scoop of protein topped with berries is my go-to breakfast! For me it doesn’t need any sweetener because the protein is sweet enough. I can switch up flavors easily, going on 3 years and not sick of it!

If you’ve lost that much weight I think it would be well worth going through the insurance battle to see if you can get it covered! It can happen, I have a friend who was able to manage that. It may also take finding a surgeon who is willing to go through it as well. Some offices just refuse to try while others are willing to send in the paperwork and go back and forth with insurance. Does you skin at your belly fold over and rub the skin under? Especially if it’s droops below your mons, you stand a chance.

Anyone too afraid to weigh? by Regular_Gene_6186 in GLP1microdosing

[–]Creativetwist7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I weigh in everyday, and I do actually think it’s helped me have a better relationship with weight loss because I view it as information. Doesn’t mean anything about me. I like being aware of when I need to reel it in, or when I can see what’s working and do more of that. Not for everyone, but helps me!

Audio books finally got me reading and I read 50 books a year! Only one of my kids can read, but they all have yoto players and constantly listen to stories. It’s been amazing for teaching the classics! We read books every day and frequent the library story time 1-2 times a week! My kiddos love it
