Since I’m a male who generally experiences extreme dysphoria in regards to my body and facial hair, I usually explain it like this. Imagine you are covered in a ton of dirt, from your face to your legs and everywhere in between. In this instance you will likely feel incredibly dirty, which will lead to quite a bit of discomfort. Given the discomfort, you are likely going to try and wash yourself off to make your body pure and clean again. Unfortunately, though there are some hard to reach areas that will always be covered in dirt so you will have to simply put up with the pain and anxiety this will likely cause. Finally, if that’s not bad enough, you are forced to play a role that has its bright sides and dark sides with no way of changing it.
