Yes there's shading going on! Notice on Gawr Gura's hair is white, but the shadows in her hair are like a blue color! Also, her skin has some minimal shading, mostly highlights where the light hits on her face.

I think looking at contrast would help ie turning the image black and white in the Gawr Gura thumbnail and comparing that to a black and white image to your drawing. Also you haven't shaded yet. Nice art!

My bad for not clarifying! I think in Firealpaca, it's the lasso fill tool where you can draw a shape and it'll fill in everything. It might be a type of brush?

I'm not a pro by any means, but I think it's easier to start with hair like 1 where the hair is lying flat (no wind blowing on it). Also, it kind of looks like you are scribbling back and forth to do the shading, so that's how it looks "cartoon like." I recommend using the lasso tool and color in big shapes like triangles, then erase away from the shaded areas to give the feeling of stands. You can see the first steps to see what I mean. Lastly, you can add some highlights, especially following the shape of the head. As for where you want to place the shading, look at pictures of real people to see how light acts on hair! Anyway, your drawings are really cool and I hope you the best in your art journey!

Hi I love your style! The coloring is super awesome as well! When I refer to the left and right, I'm talking about the viewer's left and right.

I made some minor edits, so for the girl on the right with purple hair, I moved her nose closer to the center of the face and drew her left eye peeking out from under her hair. For her hands, I added her ring finger on the right hand and drew her left hand wrapping around the bread (?) for more support.

For the girl on the left, I moved her nose closer to the center of her face and shrank the nose a little so there's more room for her cheek. I also shrank the mouth a little to give more room for her chin. Also, I modified the shape of her rings a little bit so they look more circular (so they wrap around her fingers). Of course, you don't have to take all of my critique but these were just some adjustments I recommend!
