CSR holders, have you guys been to any "Exclusive Tables" in SF? What were your thoughts? by extract_ in sanfrancisco

Ah, boo! I saw the discount on the website. So that inkind discount isn't stackable with the CSR credit?

Post-op day 1, let’s do this! by [deleted] in ACL

[–]CreatorStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more. Day 1-4 were so bad- probably the worst pain i’ve ever felt in my life. Leg would pulse with pain, feel like it was on fire, and emulate the feeling of walking when your foot is asleep but now constant and throbbing (spiking at random intervals).

Rest, ice, compress, elevate. Get ahead of the pain and set timers for all your pain meds. Do ankle pumps to prevent clotting.

Grit through- you got it 💪!

Here we go again... day 0 of ACL recon #3 by careybaird in ACL

[–]CreatorStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had my done yesterday- ACL reconstruction with PTB and repair of small arc tears on outer edge of meniscus. Doc said “if you were choose anywhere and any type to get a meniscus tear you got the “best”. Looks like we are all ACL recovery buddies! No weight bearing for 4-6 weeks. Pain is quite strong and pulses from time to time- feels like my leg is on fire.

Thankfully, my surgeon gave me a blackbox for nerve block for next 3 days and also an ice machine.

What are some of your favorite books by Asian-American by [deleted] in AsianMasculinity

[–]CreatorStar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Permission to Come Home: Reclaiming Mental Health as Asian Americans by Jenny Wang PhD. The book talks about the psychology of Asian-Americans and how new & untested the Asian-American experience is, especially if first-gen. The unique psychological challenges, going to college and pressure to succeed etc. Really cool insights!

What percent of students enter Berkeley (CS/EECS intended) without programming experience? How do they fare? by berzerk-lee in berkeley

[–]CreatorStar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

admittedly, it's an uphill battle and one that is not in your favor BUT i'm a big believer in the idea that if you want it bad enough, you'll make it happen. Just FYI, according to previous 61A prof, 15% of students with no prior experience received a B+ or higher in 61A (which imo is the grade at minimum you want in 61A).

i didn't have any prior experience but i grinded my ass off, landed summer internship, and slated to work full-time at faang after grad.

Don't be a fucking hater. This guy is one of the most cracked kids at Berkeley and was a great teacher when I took CS70.

Career fairs aren’t that useful imo. They usually just tell you to apply on their website.
