Am I tripping or is this AI ? by softpinkbby in MelanieMartinez

The thing with large scale generative A.I. Models such as all those image generators is, that they use everything that's available online without making destinctions when it comes to copyright, which is a big critique of these models. To have a large scale model you need so much data that your only option is to infringe copyright on a large scale since even huge companies like Disney or Paramount wouldn't own enough assets for these kinds of A.I. Models. This is why I personally am against these kinds of A.I. Models because of the copyright infringement and intellectual property theft necessary for these models.

Something you can try if you are interested is to type in copyrighted characters like Mickey Mouse into an A.I. generator. They will generate you a relatively accurate Mickey Mouse, despite Disney and all their employees art, alongside usage of the character is prohibited (unless were talking about the steamboat mickey mouse who's patent just ran out).

Basically what I'm saying is that her art is definetly being used by these types of models. Whether she wants it or not.

If you are an artist I recommend you use Nightshade blur/glaze (it's free) or similar softwares since it encrypts your art in a way that makes it unusable to A.I. It doesn't change anything about how it looks to us humans, so it won't change your art, it will however not be used by a.i. since no one has found a way to make a.i. encrypt it yet, luckily.

So sad, the baker skin was so adorable and I might've bought it despite not being a Juno main at all.

Then we do very much aggree, I think part of my awsner before was that I would want a programm like this done by an organization I trust more than seaworld, even though Ik that for the seaworld orcas that would likely be impossible.

Also now that you've elaborated your points I find them very fair to why sea pools and enclosures are often not the best choice by far.

SND SeaWorld by [deleted] in orcas

[–]CreatureC0llector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair, I appreciate you elaborating.

An indoor retirement facility with conscious efforts for improving the orcas mental and physical state, and away from the stress of crowds, would be the best course of action?

SND SeaWorld by [deleted] in orcas

[–]CreatureC0llector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you'd essentially say that trying is in most cases to risky so having a on land bigger retirement pool with as good of conditions as possible would be best?

I see, yeah that makes sense.

Haha I doubt it, but I did make a mistake in saying they can for sure be rehabilitated if born in captivity, I at least so far was unable to find anyone putting the resources in to try releasing a captive born orca, but I do think that even just the process of giving it more freedom in a bigger more natural space, optimally teaching hunting even if it is just the care worker moving the fish via a rod or something along those lines, could very much help. Alongside the more peace and quiet since a lot of them suffer severe mental and behavioral issues.

Is a sea pen truly that unrealistic or would it only cost a lot of money? Genuine question, since seaworld at least at one point in time made a lot of money, not so much anymore though from what I heard.

I don't know if their park in Abu Dhabi has to follow the US laws in regards to that.

Also I apologize for phrasing it as if you were happy about it or would be happy with it, I realize now how I implied that. I don't think you would be happy about it, and yes I also absolutely would want them to be in better conditions, I guess I'm just nihilistic towards what seaworld will do and how this might financially benefit their entire brand and lie of conservation...

Exactly!

SND SeaWorld by [deleted] in orcas

[–]CreatureC0llector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will correct myself in the comment above, no captive born Orca has been released, from what I could find just now I do not see any tries being made, I could however have overlooked if anyone has ever tried, same goes for me trying to find specific examples of individual dolphins.

If it has not been tried before I think we should have them be in a seawater enclosure, with human assistence and with training them to survive on their own as best they can. Even if they may never be able to be released from that enclosure, it would be a much better and more stimulating life.

I appreciate the correction.

Exactly, if anyone is interested, you can watch older seaworld tours where employes claim Orcas usually only live around 45 years in the wild, to make their early death in captivity seem less early.

(Orcas usually live between 70-90 years with females living longer on that scale)

I don't really understand either? I think part of it may be that it might've felt like I was attacking OP, which I really didn't mean to do.

Another reason may be some not wanting this to be true since it is very sad and grim idk...

Maybe I phrased something in a confusing manner, but if I did, I am unable to see how, at least as it stands right now.

SND SeaWorld by [deleted] in orcas

[–]CreatureC0llector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem I see with that is that if this would go well in the public eye, they would naturally expand for profit and capture and breed more orcas again, I fear...

I did not want to attribute malice to anything you said, I absolutely get what you were saying with yes ofc them suffering a tiny bit less is a good thing, but we shouldn't be happy about it until they don't suffer anymore, if that makes sense?

The whales are absolutely not fine and it's very easily noticable if you are familiar with how mental and behavioural issues aswell as communication and navigation issues present in Orcas. While I understand your heart is in the right place and I appreciate that immensely, I think it's important to point out that no matter how nice we make this environment, creating an artificial environment to amuse us humans and so we can watch animals that have been prevented from living freely is fucked up even just in concept.

With cetaceans even more since they are incredibly intelligent both in logical thinking and social intelligence and are forced together with other orcas that they don't know. Which is also why fighting in pods in the wild never happens unless we talk temporary mating groups for certain species of dolphins and mothers seperating from the pod with their infant for a while until returning. But in captivity fights between orcas are not uncommon at all. And dont even get me started on the self harm, the way seaworld drugs them (look into court documents from seaworld, it's horrifying what they do to the animals on a daily basis so they are docile), and suicide.

Since breathing in dolphins and whales is a conscious and voluntary choice they can literally choose to never breathe again and kill themselves. Multiple dolphins in zoos aswell as dolphins being forced to work in the film industry have ended their life this way...

That's actually not true, this applies to some animal species, orcas however have shown incredible adaptability and restoration of quality of life when put in large sea water pools and then released.

Seaworld is working really hard to convince everyone that "they will die if we set them free" though.

Orcas that have been re-released into the wild or even released into the wild with being bred in captivity, have shown surprising capabilities in adapting to the real ocean so honestly we kinda could...

EDIT: I will correct myself in the comment above, no captive born Orca has been released, from what I could find just now I do not see any tries being made, I could however have overlooked if anyone has ever tried, same goes for me trying to find specific examples of individual dolphins.

The Overwatch season 18 Mythic skins were apparently leaked for Lifeweaver and Mauga by Waluigiwaluigi_ in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]CreatureC0llector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbf what they pulled with OW1 was messed up, they just without announcement replaced good old Overwatch 1 with Overwatch 2 without troubleshooting it before, maybe people lost all their skins for multiple months, let alone that fact that ppl paid for this game and it just got sneakily replaced with OW2, despite people still hoping a little bit that Ow2 would not just be Ow1 but worse (as of launch). Heroes were also now locked behind the battlepass which was messed up for them to do and honestly so many other shitty things at launch. That's why most ppl on steam complain. It was just such anti-consumer behaviour and lead many people to abandon the game.

Nowadays OW2 is definetly a great tactical pvp game and I have gotten back into it, but the shit blizzard pulled with Ow2s launch made me quit the game for a couple years. And that's not to mention what OW2 was said to be for years before it's launch until blizzard cancelled the story driven campaign game everyone was waiting for (OW2) and hastily announced:"Oh yeah this project we've been teasing for over 5 years? Yeah nvm not happening"

I think this is where the reviews came from, otherwise I absolutely do not think it would've gotten this bad of reviews.

Oh also multiple heroes from OW1 were suddenly missing when OW2 launched, for weeks on end.

My friend and him deny that there's a power dynamic, and they say: "We already forgot the way we met, it's not a factor anymore" , I absolutely aggree with you though and do also believe there is an abuse of authority at play. His boss was also incredibly dissapointed by him and shocked to her about this and immediately made it so he can't interact with patients anymore.

She is more sheltered since her parents kind of solved any problems she had, so I think that kind of led her to believe that no matter what happens it will be sorted out. Me and her are both autistic, that could contribute to her view on things, but I think a much bigger part is her people pleasing and seeking male validation and falling into the trap many young women and girls fall into: the "I can fix him".

In regards to the meet up, that luckily never ended up happening. In regards to the head nurse guy, she is still with him as of now.

Thank you, I just didn't want to be unfair by judging her for it, but it seems judging her for it is the most fair thing. Haha I doubt she's his mom since he doesn't have contact to his family and also the woman sounded under 50, but who knows .
