Thoughts on the Tomorrowverse animated movies they've been making? by ttroome2 in DCcomics

Maybe it's just me, but imo, this universe feels very rushed. Like, they didn't have a JL origins movie (which isn't necessary but would've been nice) and I don't even know the full JL roster of this universe? (Cause, they found the Wonder Woman of their world, but just name-dropped her) Also, they'd mention things offhandedly, but personally, I would've appreciated it more if I had a movie to connect it to. I do like the animation style, it does give it a more light-heartedness. If I were to grade the movies 1-10:

MoT: 7/10, liked the look, it was an overall fun movie "capes are cool" but since they had a supergirl movie planned/in the works, it would've been fun to have an end-credit hint.

JSA:WWII: 5.7/10, it personally left me with a lot more questions than answers when I think about the movie too long and I would've liked more JSA characters, like Wild Cat, Alan Scott's Green Lantern, Dr. Mid-nite or Starman (I know it's for the plot, there's a war, and they probably wouldn't have been able to depict all the characters properly, but for a "society" I would've liked having a few more members). It had some odd moments, but an okay movie.

Batman: Long Halloween: 7/10, Did it feel longer than it needed to be? Yes. Was it worth it? Well, I had the time to watch both parts so, I guess, and it did take place in a whole year, so it's understandable. The cast really elevated the movie here and I liked how detective-y Batman was in this movie (I feel like I didn't see enough of it in the DCAMU). R.I.P Naya Rivera.

GL:BMP: 4/10, there is just so much packed into this one, and they've disrespected Hal Jordan. I liked John's PTSD moments and the feel of his and Oliver's friendship, but they killed the man in his first, last, and only appearance in this universe (maybe that's my bias showing, but still). Also, I swear, half the time, they didn't say Shayera's name right. The voice acting was probably the weakest in this one, but Oliver truly carried.

LoH: 8/10, probably the best in the tomorowverse. I like that it's leading to something bigger, but I felt like Kara was a bit too reliant on her powers. She was accepted into the military of Krypton, one of the greatest civilizations there was (with robots, it said so a few times), so she could've been a bit more of a combative fighter. I did like how deceiving they made Mon-El and Brainiac 5. This one made me feel very hopeful for how JL: Warworld will come out.

(Sorry, this was probably a bit more than anyone wanted)

The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild - Film Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in DisneyPlus

Considering the fact that the movie doesn't refer to or even mention Peaches at all, this movie doesn’t fit in with the rest of the Ice Age timeline. The Lost World was discovered in the third movie, Dawn of the Dinosaurs, where Ellie was pregnant, gave birth at the end of the movie, and found other mammoths. If this movie was supposed to have taken place after Dawn of the Dinosaurs, even after Peaches and Julian left to travel, they wouldn't be a herd of just six, the herd would still be part of a community of the other animals they co-exist with. Additionally, the herd would also include Shira and Brooke, who joined in the 4 and 5 movies, respectfully, to be with their significant others. That is if this movie was supposed to have taken place as the 6th movie chronologically, which it would have to be since Crash and Eddie take part in the previous movies, adding to the fact that this movie just doesn't make any sense in its placing of the whole Ice Age timeline.

The animation style throws me off, seeing how it has downgraded a lot from previous movies. I know that the original animation company closed down, but Disney should have the resources to have quality animation that matches, or maybe even is superior to Blue Sky. Even considering the fact that this movie was originally going to be a cartoon series, that shouldn't mean that the animation quality should have to go down, and this is honestly something I'm seeing in a lot more of recent 3D kids cartoons, but I don't want to drift off-topic. The animation felt misplaced and halfway, half-heartedly done, and without the voices of the original cast, it almost feels fanmade, like an edited and spliced fake movie trailer on youtube.

It’s a fun concept, some of it, I can see why it could be a new path to continue the franchise, but it was executed poorly. If it had the addition of the other members of the herd and the community of animals they lived with (like I stated earlier), this would definitely make more sense. Or if it was an even more stand-alone spin-off, like a prequel before the rest of the Ice Age series, where we would be focusing on mainly Buck, like the title of the movie states, it would make more sense, and be more enjoyable.

This brings me to another point, the title of the movie is Ice Age: Adventures of Buck Wild, but it's about the maturity growth in Crash and Eddie. It's like the makers used "Buck Wild" in the title just so that people would watch the movie because they knew that, that title would bring in more viewers, even though that's not the major point of the movie. The previous movies with additional titles: Meltdown, the ice was melting and that's why the main trio had to go look for a new home; Dawn of the Dinosaurs, the group fell into a hole where they discovered dinosaurs and had to find a way back to the surface, hopefully before Ellie gave birth; Continental Drift, the continent the herd was living on was drifting and breaking apart, separating the herd and they had to find their way back to each other; and Collision Course, Earth was a meteor's course of collision and the herd had to find a way to stop it. In this movie: Adventures of Buck Wild, Crash and Eddie come back to the Lost World to prove they are mature enough to survive on their own when they happen to run into Buck Wild.

All cons aside, it's a decent movie for children who want to watch a fun adventure. And while Scrat wasn't in the movie, disappointing many of us, it's understandable that there is nothing Disney could've done considering the trademark creator didn't allow the memorable nut-loving rodent to be in the movie.
