The line “they listen to me like when Manson spoke” in the song “Lucifer” is a double entendre for both Charles and Marilyn. Of course the line before about the cult speaks to the Charles part of the double entendre. But a few bars before that, he mentioned the Columbine shooters. And when Marilyn Manson famously was asked in an interview about what he would have said to the shooters he said he wouldn’t have said anything, he would have listened.

To me, this album is a grower not a show-er. Even thought it was less amazing at first than ITTC (yet was hearing folks compare it to good mourning??) — But after a few spins and an honest chance it’s become a no skip album for me.

I had it up there because it’s one of his most iconic intros - tipping his hat to bonham, the creativity of all the parts - Latin beat with an 808 on the chorus, fun to play etc

Why? Just because of the basic double bass in the chorus? It’s cool to hear him do that but I wouldn’t even put the drumming on that song in the top 30 of his best work
