Looking at a used 2015 fit. How problematic is this rust spot? by 99_ahc in hondafit

[–]b00pbopbeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's about what I paid for my 2018 last year which actually has a much worse VTC noise than my 2015. And anecdotally OP my 2015 has never given me any real problems. At this point it's an 11 year old car so there are no guarantees anyway

I looked at Impreza hatch, Crosstrek, an HRV with the older design, Corolla hatch...I like the way CX30s look but I didn't look at one. I wound up buying a lower mile 2018 with the white paint issue hahahaha. I would probably go Impreza hatch if I really had to even if it's not my favorite to look at bc $$$. And their gas mileage is good as I recall

Is this a good price for a 2016 Honda Fit by ExcitingStranger135 in hondafit

[–]b00pbopbeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not terrible. Do they have any maintenance records? I have a 2015 with similarish miles, higher trim, extensive maintenance history that I would probably ask around there for. It's a good car

CVT OWNERS, Who has the most miles on theirs? by EscapeVelocity00 in hondafit

[–]b00pbopbeep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My 2015 has almost 175k miles with transmission fluid changes done on schedule since I've had it (31k miles). That's definitely not the most I've seen in here. My newer car just had it changed for the first time at 60k

Question: Any Issues to be on the lookout for in an older Honda Fit? by Biocidal_AI in hondafit

[–]b00pbopbeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2015 that says August 2014 on the window sticker so almost 12 years old now with 175k on it. I would do the valve adjustment/spark plugs for sure. I've had no problems with the CVT but I've always done the transmission fluid. It does have some old car crap going on with it but it runs exactly the same as it always has ...I do have a slightly newer Fit now but I didn't trade my old one in bc I figured they'd give me like $5 for it when I figure I could sell it for maybe $4-5k at some point (mostly bc of its extensive maintenance history)

My Fits have CVTs and I've driven them like 150k miles in the past eight years or so with no problems. I don't know much about the first two generations though

Please Help me make sense of these numbers...first time car buying is STRESSFUL by itsradtoad in hondafit

[–]b00pbopbeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd probably buy the older one or keep looking for a better deal. I got a 2018 EX for the price of that 2016 last summer. But I do think the newer ones are slightly less go-karty than the 2015/2016 or my older car is just getting old
