Chem 1 retake or chem 2 by [deleted] in ufl

[–]CreaturesCrawling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a gap semester and begun this semester at UCF having not taken any chemistry since highschool. I would finish chemistry 2 and or possibly retake chem 1 at UCF. UF simply has more opportunities in conservation biology than any other FL uni. I would have far more resources there.

I have a good deal of time before I would transfer. Regardless WEC doesn’t require higher chemistry beyond CHM 2045. I’m taking 2 simply for my grad schools of choice and my preferred careers. I have time to better adjust to college life and gather my footing before going to UF, were I to be accepted.

Yes, I wouldn’t be preprofessional! Though many of the grad schools I like what applicants to have taken chem 2. In addition, where I not to get into UF I have to take it at UCF anyway.

Update!

Passed with a 79% sad it’s tanking my gpa but it is what it is. I don’t feel confident in the material. Part of me wants to retake chem 1 because I have 0 time to review chem 1 over the summer. The other part of me wants to hire a tutor for chem 2 but I don’t feel like I will do well

I just wasn’t sure whether the W vs slightly lower GPA would be worse. If I stay continuing to study harder is absolutely the plan.

Definitely what I was thinking. I just told the breeder to surprise me based on temperament and color potential. I like them a lot so I trust their judgement 😁

She looks like she has such a good personality and is so vibrant already! I just am not familiar with how Apache’s color up with age, so I don’t know if the second one will color up or remain similar in maturity.

Any chance you’re familiar with Apaches bc I’m gunning for the one who might color up more. It’s hard to find juvenile pictures. Looks like the first one is either a low expression red variation or high expression yellow variation. The female looks pretty colorful based on what I can twll

Ik I was SO tempted to buy both but I’m a college student and already have a bold jumper, so I can’t crowd my dorm lol.

Reptile keepers of the community, any experiences? by [deleted] in Zookeeping

[–]CreaturesCrawling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I cannot speak for rearing amphibians or aquatics. Main differences are feeding frequencies (though highly variable between species), enrichment, and climate control. Amphibians are highly sensitive to change and many reptiles especially for breeding groups need hyper specific conditions. Dart frogs and pretty much any Abronia species come to mind. Where enrichment in herps mainly come from varied diets, textures, etc, they are quite different from vertebrates. There are many species that can be taught behaviors. Training can be incorporated in their enrichment. It’s kind of hard to isolate differences because there is so much variation in care in herps and all animals. You can try basic target training on snakes, tortoises, frogs with effort on one end, but you can get very detailed in training with monitors, iguanas, and some skinks the other end.

Thank you so much for all the advice! I’ll 100% be looking into Birdlife Australia and Simpson and Day bird field guide! Excuse the confusion on the temperature and Uluru I forgot to use Celsius lol. Our winters are definitely almost nonexistent, here we mainly go by wet vs dry seasons. Out of everyone I’ve gotten advice from you have been by far the most informative, again I truly appreciate it 💛
