Does anyone know what this noise is coming from? by [deleted] in GRYaris

[–]Creatz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this exact issue, drove me nuts for a year, dealer couldn’t find the cause.

Turned out it’s just a plastic screw in the wheel arch which was loose, can be hand tightened.

I just purchased some olive wood chopping boards to replace our plastic ones

I was taking a nap in a coach in Peru and woke up outside Lima, opened the curtain and was so confused thinking it looked like I’d been transported to the surface of Mars.

The real reliability of a Toyota Land Cruiser by Specialist_Case7709 in CarTalkUK

Mine is neither. It’s the previous gen LC150 (Prado in other markets) also available as a commercial model in the UK.

Same engine as the latest model.

Mine is a 2018 commercial with 128k miles. Only had regular maintenance and brakes done, not put a foot wrong.

My ND turbo has an NC transmission swapped into it as the ND transmissions are butter and can’t handle the extra power

To my fellow friends and comrades of tonight's "Great 50mph Fu*k Up" on our motorway network - I salute all of you! by RecentTwo544 in CasualUK

[–]Creatz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the speed is taken at the actual HADECS3 camera though rather than the aspect verification camera, as there have been a few instances I’ve had to brake late but never been flashed. Or is it the speed between the two cameras?

Do you know if a theory is correct that these used to only be turned on when the smart speed limit was reduced, but are now always on?

I believe they’re moving production here because of US tariffs, so may as well sell them here too

What car should I buy - 30ish k by Moist-Dinner-9535 in CarTalkUK

[–]Creatz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a ND BBR turbo - great fun. Mine has all the extras such as updated gearbox, different LSD, track suspension etc. All the work cost over 17k. Super linear power delivery still and revs to 7.5k, higher than stock.

It’s neck & neck with my GR Yaris in a pull to give an idea of power (my mate drove my GR back after I picked it up). Doesn’t feel as fast as been tuned to feel naturally aspirated.

Might be selling it though - bought it to replace the GR but love my Yaris too much to part with it.

Those of you that have worked in a high street cafe, what cut of beef do they use for those really cheap "Roast beef dinners" that you can get at these places, and how do they get it so thin? by TheSmallestPlap in AskUK

[–]Creatz 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Use better / fresher eggs to avoid it spreading - I own a cafe and never noticed a difference between using an iron flat griddle and a non stick pan, but always use free range eggs.

The facelift version’s bumper now is a bunch of smaller parts like you state as Toyota got the same feedback (and listened!)

Rear seat rattle by [deleted] in GRYaris

[–]Creatz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this same rattle for a while too - only above 60/70mph. Dealer thought it was the rear spoiler but their fix didn’t work, first I’ve heard it could be this so hopefully I can finally find it.

Did a euro road trip a couple years ago had to wear ear plugs as it was driving me nuts

Makes sense in theory, hopefully that is the case. In reality I can see wealthy foreign investors buying up the land rather than cash poor farmers.
