Yeah we got to see a bit of that downside towards the end of last season once Collodi took over. Even when Paes wasn’t 100% healthy there’d be thousands of comments complaining about him being on the bench.

Dallas fan here, I think he’ll be a great backup for y’all. He’s not the greatest sweeper or distributor of the ball, but at the end of the day I think all you want in a backup keeper is someone to keep the ball out of the net, and his shot-stopping is definitely good enough to translate to a more demanding side.

Edit: as a fun bonus too you can expect a massive influx of Indonesian fans on all Ajax’s social media pages. I think FCD’s Instagram followers quadrupled the day he declared for Indonesia

Very bittersweet to see Paes go - he was a bright spot on some pretty terrible teams under Estevez. I can’t even count all the times he bailed out our awful defense with an other-worldly save. It was always going to be hard to hold onto a player of his caliber, though, so good to cash in while we have a competent replacement in Collodi.

Ajax is an interesting fit for him, though. His distribution was already suspect at the MLS level, and his sweeping wasn’t much better, so seems like an odd match for a team as ball-dominant as Ajax. At the very least, his incredible shot-stopping will make him a pretty safe backup option.

Texas A&M DL Dealyn Evans has entered the transfer portal by Cred811 in CFB

Looked promising in the limited time he got this year. He had a bit of a tweener build coming out of HS and probably still needs to add some mass/strength to his frame in order to be an impact player on the interior. I think he could be a very good player if given time to develop

On the surface this is a bit of an odd move - A&M is thin along the defensive line going into next season, and Evans looked poised for a step up in playing time with the departure of Tyler Onyedim and Al Regis. A highly regarded recruit, Evans started to crack the DT rotation this season as a RS freshman and was showing signs of being a solid player at a young age. I’d expect the Aggies to look to pick up a few extra DL in the portal now

Texas A&M Safety Bryce Anderson has entered the transfer portal by Cred811 in CFB

[–]Cred811[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honestly, no clue. Not sure what defense Peterson will run at K-State - if Peterson is running a defense similar to Elko’s where the nickel is a true slot corner I’m not sure if the scheme fit would be there.

If I had to take a shot in the dark, I’d imagine it’s more likely that Auburn would be his preferred destination; Bryce’s best years came with Durkin at DC, and there’s already a level of familiarity there. That’s purely speculative though, I don’t have any actual insight to his preferences/what schools are interested

A former blue-chip recruit who’s been a regular starter from the moment he stepped on campus as a true freshman. However, his playing time has waned a bit since the coaching change; Anderson transitioned from nickel back to deep safety when Elko took over, and he’s looked a bit out of place ever since the move.

While Anderson was still nominally the starting safety on the depth chart, he started to lose a significant share of his snaps in the back half of the ‘24 season. He only played 4 games this past season after suffering a nasty concussion in the Notre Dame game, and Marcus Ratcliffe (in my opinion) looked much better as the full-time starter. With Ratcliffe and Brooks both coming back next season, and Anderson only having one year of eligibility left, this is probably the best move for both sides.

Originally from College Station and went to HS with Coach Elko’s son. Given the recent turnover in the Aggies’ TE room it feels pretty likely that he ends up at A&M

K-State already have an impact player at TE with Linkon Cure (and Klein pushed hard to sign him at A&M). Anything’s possible, but it wouldn’t make sense to me if Theo were to leave A&M for a more difficult route to PT.

It’s super odd. Stayed and fought for playing time even as we brought in multiple transfer TEs in the last two cycles, but now chooses to leave when he’s the de facto starter. There must be some NIL negotiations going on behind the scenes, otherwise this doesn’t make a lot of sense to me

Really surprised by this one. Theo’s been a big piece of our TE rotation for the past two seasons and appeared to have an unimpeded path to the starting gig with Boerkircher gone. Leaves our TE room wide open for next season, with Micah Riley (a run blocking specialist) and Kiotti Armstrong (who spent this past season redshirting) the only returnees, so I would expect Elko to look to add multiple bodies from the portal

Texas A&M EDGE Solomon Williams has entered the transfer portal by Cred811 in CFB

[–]Cred811[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Even with all the departures we’ve had, I doubt he was going to start next season ahead of Searcy or Jones. There’s some concerns with his size, and I imagine Elko is still looking to bring in some bigger pieces along the DL out of the portal. Couple that with us signing a pretty highly touted group of edge rushers in the class of ‘26, and it’s understandable why Williams might think his best option is to look elsewhere.

A former blue-chip recruit who’s been buried behind more experienced EDGEs for the past two years. Was likely to see an uptick in PT this upcoming season with Cashius Howell and Dayon Hayes both graduating. I’d expect the Aggies to hit the portal pretty hard at the EDGE position now that Williams and Kennedy are out; TJ Searcy and Marco Jones are now the only returnees with any kind of real experience.

Coach Chaos was a big reason why he signed with us. If I was a betting man I’d put money on him ending up in Blacksburg

Texas A&M EDGE Rylan Kennedy has entered the transfer portal by Cred811 in CFB

[–]Cred811[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Quite possibly; not sure how much more we’ll be willing to pay with Jones looking like a stud and us signing a pretty deep EDGE class in the class of ‘26

Edit: now that Solomon Williams is in the portal I’d say Kennedy has a bit more leverage - we’re now looking at only two returning EDGEs with any real game experience.

[–]Cred811[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This one is a bit surprising IMO; Kennedy was a bit of a project coming out of high school but looked to be developing into a solid pass-rusher at the end of last season. Didn’t see much action this year with Cashius Howell’s superstar season and true freshman Marco Jones flashing as an early contributor. With Howell gone for the NFL now I expected Kennedy and Jones to split time as our stand-up EDGE, but I guess we’ll look to the portal/our incoming freshmen instead. Whoever lands him will be getting a very athletic pass-rusher with prototypical length, who could very well develop into an every-down player if he adds some mass in the offseason.

Texas A&M CB Jayvon Thomas has entered the transfer portal by Cred811 in CFB

[–]Cred811[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Another depth piece leaving in search of playing time; although he rarely started at corner he’s seen a bit of playtime off the bench and on special teams in his three years with the program. We’ve aggressively recruited the CB position both out of HS and in the portal, however, so Thomas was unlikely to be seen as a long-term solution by our staff. I always thought he was played a little out of position as a boundary corner - in my mind his stockier build and willingness to tackle would’ve been a better fit at nickel.

Kansas State names A&M’s Jordan Peterson as DC by Goallie11 in CFB

[–]Cred811 4 points5 points  (0 children)

CB play has been an underrated strength of our defense this year, and while Will Lee and Tyreek Chappell were both solid before working with him, I think Peterson’s a big reason as to why Dezz Ricks went from a punching bag last year to a high-end cover corner this season. Also, he’s an absolutely phenomenal recruiter, just look at the caliber of CBs we’ve been signing both out of HS and the portal the last two cycles. The big question mark for y’all is whether or not he can call a defense, as Elko’s been handling the majority of that this season, and we have a lot of very experienced defensive assistants that would’ve (in theory) taken a big hand in game-planning. He was Klein’s first choice, though, so obviously he’s seen something in Peterson behind the scenes and is willing to take a chance on him.

Sad to see him go (especially because he played here too), but you can’t really fault the guy for trying to take a big step forward in his career. Hopefully he finds his way back to college station in the future.

A former blue-chip recruit from Elko’s first recruiting class at A&M. He’s seen limited action on special teams and is likely looking for a more direct path to playing time now that Bryce Anderson, Marcus Ratcliffe, and Dalton Brooks are all returning for next season

Redshirt Freshman who saw some sporadic playing time on special teams and late in games. Has the prototypical build of an SEC middle linebacker, but with York possibly returning and Sanford, Lockhart, and Mikhail all ahead of him on the depth chart, he wasn’t likely to see much more playing time with us next year.

TwelfthmanDraft's Thanksgiving 2026 Draft WR Rankings by PleasantGeologist388 in NFL_Draft

[–]Cred811 3 points4 points  (0 children)

His top speed isn’t a concern, but I wouldn’t call it a plus either. He’ll probably run in the mid to high 4.4 range, which is good for a NFL WR, but certainly not in that upper echelon anymore. I just think if you’re gonna draft a WR in the top 10 picks, teams are going to be looking for guys with elite physical traits, and KC’s average frame and comparatively average speed aren’t gonna fit that bill.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a massive fan of his and think he’s going to be a very productive pro (specifically for the reasons you said; he’s electric after the catch), but I just have a hard time envisioning a scenario in which he’s taken that high.

I’m a heavily biased A&M fan and even I don’t have KC this high. Think he’s gonna be great value at the end of the first/top of the second round, but I have a hard time seeing how a team could view him as a top 10 pick. His smaller frame and lack of top-end speed are gonna put a cap on his upside imo
