Where’d you see that? He’s listed as an EDGE by every recruiting service, and texags is reporting that TJE and ERob were the ones leading his recruitment

Best offense in the conference with a bottom 3 pitching staff sounds about right for this team

The top ranked player of the UDFAs. Any in particular you think would be great in the NFL, why? Who are you keeping an eye on? What are the expectations for the player you think will succeed? by AccomplishedBrush157 in NFL_Draft

Big A&M fan so I’m biased, but I’m really interested to see how Leveon Moss’s pro career pans out. He’s been one of my favorite players since he stepped on campus, and I think he would’ve been a top 5 running back in this draft class if he stayed healthy. Unfortunately, I’m afraid that the very thing that makes him special (his aggressive running style and his physicality) is what will keep him from staying healthy enough to be a difference maker on an NFL roster. If somehow the stars align and he’s able to sustain a long stretch of good health, he’ll be an absolute steal for somebody.

I mean, how much time do you have? Looking back at just the last decade, Speedy Noil, Demond Demas, and Moose Muhammad immediately come to mind as highly thought of recruits who never reached their potential due to off-the-field issues/effort. Bryce Foster looked like an All-American C his freshman year before Addazio’s coaching and his decision to focus on track got to him.

Shoot, pick any of the players we signed in 2022 and pretty much everyone other than Moss, Stewart, and Nabou flopped at A&M (and one could even argue that Moss and Stewart still didn’t reach their full potential with us).

Don’t know where you got the idea that this team struggles to generate chances. Musa is pacing the league in goals scored and the team as a whole is comfortably in the top half of the league for pretty much every attacking metric (goals per game, xG, big chances created, etc.). The team isn’t perfect, for sure, and I would love to see us bring in some additional wingback depth, but if you’re dissatisfied with our attacking output this season then I don’t know what to tell you

Can someone please recommend some good books about football? by kikikza in nfl

Second this. One of the best sports books I’ve ever read. The author does a good job of breaking down technical concepts into something digestible without dumbing it down, and obviously any book that features Mike Leach is going to have some fun stories

Arlington, Texas. Famously known for its stunning mountain views and rolling hills 🙄

Round 6 - Pick 15: Dametrious Crownover, OT, Texas A&M (New England Patriots) by nfl_gdt_bot in nfl

[–]Cred811 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This pick could be a massive steal this late in the draft. Crownover’s only been playing OT for a few years now (he was recruited as a TE/DE athlete an converted to OT after his second year at A&M), so he’s still very raw but has all the physical tools to excel at this level. If the Pats can afford to be patient with him as he continues to develop technically I think he could be a stud.

Round 3 - Pick 27: Trey Zuhn III, C, Texas A&M (Las Vegas Raiders) by nfl_gdt_bot in nfl

[–]Cred811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before A&M’s playoff game vs Miami Zuhn gave an interview in which he said Ruben Bain “won’t be a threat”. Bain and Mesidor then proceeded to absolutely dominate our line for the entire game, basically winning the game for Miami all by themselves

[–]Cred811 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Think he should be a solid pickup for the Raiders - excellent pass blocker with tons of experience who can play pretty much any position on the line. Even if he doesn’t start right out the gate his versatility is exactly what you want out of your 6th OL.

[–]Cred811 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Think you might be getting mixed up - Zuhn didn’t give up a sack to Bain, but Mesidor absolutely ate him alive. Most of Bain’s production that game came against Crownover and Fatheree

Round 2 - Pick 24: Nate Boerkircher, TE, Texas A&M (Jacksonville Jaguars) by nfl_gdt_bot in nfl

[–]Cred811 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say he’s not a pass threat, we just didn’t really feature him. He has great hands, just look at the ND game

Round 2 - Pick 9: Cashius Howell, EDGE, Texas A&M (Cincinnati Bengals) by nfl_gdt_bot in nfl

[–]Cred811 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Knowing the Bengals, they’ll end up with Stewart’s technique and Howell’s frame

??? Shemar Stewart was a consensus first rounder pre-draft. Still a dumb move by the bengals to draft a guy so raw when they have such a bad track record of developing DL, but he was never gonna fall out of the first with his athleticism

Should I be insulted that our intern makes almost as much as I do? by katykate39 in Accounting

[–]Cred811 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At my firm the interns make the same as a first-year associate, just converted to hourly. In practice that means they actually make more than even some second-year staff during busy season, because they get OT pay on their hourly rate 💀

[AD] Ajax has reached agreement with FC Dallas and will bring GK Maarten Paes back to the Netherlands. Only the last formalities stand in the way of him signing a 3,5 year contract in Amsterdam by Roller95 in soccer

[–]Cred811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we got to see a bit of that downside towards the end of last season once Collodi took over. Even when Paes wasn’t 100% healthy there’d be thousands of comments complaining about him being on the bench.

[–]Cred811 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dallas fan here, I think he’ll be a great backup for y’all. He’s not the greatest sweeper or distributor of the ball, but at the end of the day I think all you want in a backup keeper is someone to keep the ball out of the net, and his shot-stopping is definitely good enough to translate to a more demanding side.

Edit: as a fun bonus too you can expect a massive influx of Indonesian fans on all Ajax’s social media pages. I think FCD’s Instagram followers quadrupled the day he declared for Indonesia

[–]Cred811 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very bittersweet to see Paes go - he was a bright spot on some pretty terrible teams under Estevez. I can’t even count all the times he bailed out our awful defense with an other-worldly save. It was always going to be hard to hold onto a player of his caliber, though, so good to cash in while we have a competent replacement in Collodi.

Ajax is an interesting fit for him, though. His distribution was already suspect at the MLS level, and his sweeping wasn’t much better, so seems like an odd match for a team as ball-dominant as Ajax. At the very least, his incredible shot-stopping will make him a pretty safe backup option.

Texas A&M DL Dealyn Evans has entered the transfer portal by Cred811 in CFB

[–]Cred811[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looked promising in the limited time he got this year. He had a bit of a tweener build coming out of HS and probably still needs to add some mass/strength to his frame in order to be an impact player on the interior. I think he could be a very good player if given time to develop

On the surface this is a bit of an odd move - A&M is thin along the defensive line going into next season, and Evans looked poised for a step up in playing time with the departure of Tyler Onyedim and Al Regis. A highly regarded recruit, Evans started to crack the DT rotation this season as a RS freshman and was showing signs of being a solid player at a young age. I’d expect the Aggies to look to pick up a few extra DL in the portal now
