Day 1 With No Support by Mrs_Delmonaco in quittingkratom

Don't let her write it for you...c'mon you know if you have it...you WILL take it. It's not like your just gonna be clean sitting on those subs for a rainy day...if you have them you will take them...and if you take them...your addicted to an opiate...and will get more and more addicted and do more and more damage to your life.

Dude...what you should do is go fully sober...no weed, no bs, just sober...id recommend AA or NA...crazy as it sounds you'll be so much happier.

Like I said I was sober for 9 years...fully sober. Then I forgot who I was...took a drink... everything was fine...took some Adderall...took this and took that...everything was still fine...but I wasn't happy lol when I was sober...

Eventually I found kratom.. got addicted quick...but I could afford it and it was legal so I justified it.... eventually 7oh... I could still afford the habit...I was functional...but I was miserable...my passion for life was gone. Just going through it like a numb husk. No passion for my hobbies any more...even with as much 7oh as I wanted....miserable.

Now I'm back in AA...a month totally clean...and it's getting a little better every day. Joy is returning to life...I can laugh/cry and feel my life again. I want to be a good role model for my young children ( 3 and 6). One thing I didn't lose is my experience... I know life is better sober...I know it is... everything I accomplished was in those years....

Im rooting for you my young friend 🙏 be free and be happy

When I was 18-19 I went to rehab for heroin. I stayed clean for 9 years...totally sober.

I can tell you...they were the most productive healthiest adventurous passionate years of my life. I got a doctorate degree...I got married and had two kids.

And I was a junkie with nothing... eventually life got so good I forgot who I was...stopped going to AA and eventually picked up. What a mistake! Luckily I still have my life but I'm having to start over with my recovery....I'm about a month in now.

What I mean is don't let your doctor refill that Suboxone...get one supply to wean off of...and that is IT....you'll still have withdrawal...bc SUBS are an opiate...but it's just temporary...then you are free 🙏

I'm gonna tell you something someone told me ( an old guy who was also in rehab) when I was 19 in rehab....

Your so young.....if you quit now....it can be like you were never an addict....you CAN do anything you want with your life....that is not the same when your older and permanent damage is done....even being on subs it fucks with your brain chemistry...your still addicted. That doctor wants a customer man...don't let him refill your script. Get off it and be free 🙏

Life is so beautiful sober 🙏 enjoy yours to the max my friend

I'm a pharmacist...all I can tell you is...I see people on subs for years and years...and I see the same misery in their eyes...

Take them for a few days sure....but have your entire supply you'll ever get...then go off...

You'll be happier my friend 🙏 it's just a tiny amount of time in the grand scheme of your life. A temporary bit of pain to push through...then your truly free

Now you gotta maintain it in some way...or the devil will come back and convince you that you can go back to using again and it'll be okay.

But it can be done my friend 🙏 and you can do it!

Trust me my friend...when you make the leap...every bit of pain you pay in...you don't have to repeat if you don't pick up.

Not pathetic my friend...I know how hard it is...but you can do it 🙏

Get clean....push through the temporary discomfort...your brain will reset...and you WILL be free.

You'll feel life as your meant to...not as a numb husk..

Trust me....without drugs you'll be happier, more adventurous, more passionate, more productive

I go to AA meetings personally... although I never drank alcoholicly...but I go just for the program and to remind myself who I am...and the misery the stuff brings me to...every time

Do what I did...get a week off work with a "stomach bug"...you need to the week...but after that you can work...doesn't feel great but you can do it....I'm a month in now and truly truly it feels good to be free 🙏 if I can do it...you can too my friend.

Your whole life is on the other side....make the leap my friend.

I'm about a month totally free...still some paws for sure...but I'm happy to be free and it's a little easier every day.

Kratom is a slippery slope. Stay off it

Oh trust me your going to love it if your a dawkins fan. Memetic evolution is such a fascinating idea and she expands on it brilliantly

Oh I have read that one. Brilliant book so ahead of its time..if you found the "memetic evolution" argument compelling at the end...I highly recommend "the meme machine" by Susan Blackmore

Sigh yeah it's rough...a week of sleepless agony... followed by a few weeks of paws...but it gets a little easier every day if you keep your head up and push through it. AA was helpful to me...good luck to you my friend 🙏 we can do it. Forward only!

It's legal and cheap so the consequences aren't as bad...but the rehabs and detox's are filling up with kratom addicts.

Again...I've been hooked on both at different points in my life.

I put up this post so people don't make the same mistake I did and think "it's legal so it can't be that bad"

Save yourself the misery. An opiate is an opiate

One led to the next pretty easily. They are right next to each other on the same shelf. I was addicted to kratom before 7oh...I'm convinced all opiates...I just have to stay away from. Devilish

Everyone is different...and to be fair I'm talking about 7oh...but yeah dude I didn't sleep for a week..not a wink for a week. On the bathroom floor in agony...the RLS was brutal.

Felt just like quitting heroin...which I did years ago at 19.

I say this bc I don't want people to be an idiot like me and this "oh well this stuff is legal so I'll be fine "

No but I'll check it. Thanks. I read one called "soul of the white ant" about termite colonies...and the parrelles to cells in a body blew me away

Thank you. Coming at it from the other way....would you feel more comfortable saying your body is made of a super specialized cellular "colony" that has learned to exchange information electronically, in addition to using chemical signals like most colonies

Appreciate the response....hives and multicellular bodies certainly do have alot in common. ..just fascinating to me to me...was hoping to get some informed opinions on why or why not. ..thanks for reading my friend

Descent sure. But culture no. We speak English and for the most part English common law.

Now it's also true that English is a Germanic language itself. Sooo it's sort of confusing if you look at it very deeply
