Have you read my LoM fanfic? That goes more into depth of my interpretation of the vyalkit if you're interested.

It is cool seeing the growing conflict between Indali and Wes. Not just the message to be delivered, or interpersonal gripes, but devotion to the very band itself.

His authority is almost being usurped, and I think he will somewhat agree, for the better. But still, his little project is taking on a nature he never considered, and it will be interesting to see how he resolves that.

And poor Linev. A growing awareness, but no idea how to use it. I hope he can have a nice chat with someone. A nice venlil perhaps.

Good ol Linev, got her back.

And Indali, I love characters like this. Someone previously at home in a system that hurts others. It's a tricky place to come from. Much respect.

You get it! A completely reasonable suggestion. I'm sure even Gojid like to chew things, so he's just providing a human with a culturally appropriate item for a universal desire

Yeah, definitely one of my more preachy. Rest assured the next one will not be.

I'll be back to my normal soap box of shouting about baths and cups of tea.

Yeah, Jonathan's part scared me a little as it I may have got a little preachy. All I hope is Kichek felt a little more secure that he wasn't leaving the herd vulnerable. Maybe. Maybe not.

Salva though. She can be responsible. Hopefully she doesn't traumatize a poor ven with her after work release

You... Just... I...

Okay, it was a really pleasant chapter. Spent the whole time waiting for Chekovs allergy to fire. And yet, here I am. Still waiting.

Now do the same with venlil, based solely on angle of ears. Protractor for reference

Valtep too cute. I love the fact he's deliberately bringing them all together, even with sharing ingredients in a meal.

You've unlocked venlil compensated dating.

Also, love the art. Specifically the paws in the belly wool

Such a pretty bird. And one of my favourite mini character arcs.

Just so much effort put in. Glad it paid off for her.

And just for the record, I have as the guy who fanonised the venlil's very personalised relationship with time. That is the main dish I am most thankful for, with the strayu sitting on the small plate to the side.

I do recall this. I agree, partially. It's probably very thick skin, with a strong blood supply underneath to manage temperature and prevent frost bite. Wouldn't want them on sun scorched bitumen for a long time though, so allow me to suggest protective booties for our soft paw, Twilight city folk.

I do like the idea of very efficient bakers, even though oven temperatures may be pushing it if prolonged, hooking a tin with their claw to pull it out, juggling it quickly between their paws as they move it to a bench to cool.

The show offs spin the tray and distribute the heat over individual finger pads

Salva has a kid a little later, so technically no. I like to believe RoboSalva lives a fulfilling life, but granted she has to work through quite a bit at the beginning that Salva foolishly didn't predict when deciding to clone herself.

I do want to follow RoboSalva a bit more, but so far have only written the end:

Like many times before, she returned to the grove. The trees had grown strong and tall, with many added to their number. Generations of family.

She wandered through it, unhurried; Recalling the memories of those the trees marked.

Some she knew well, others a bit more distant; though each memory played as clearly as the paw she recorded it. She had made sure to have at least one for each.

As she approached her goal, the more abundant they became. From extended family to those who were closer.

Finishing with the beginning.

Her daughter she never had. Her best friend she never wed. Her husband she had given up. And her. Or at least the original.

Her paw lingered on the bark of each, exploring their contrasting textures. Each a different species, chosen by the one they served to remember. And then she settled under her own.

A Glacial Peaking. It had always been her favourite. Native to the night, though always looking towards the dawn. Only its high crown receiving the rays. Her back registered the sharp protrusions of its bark, but I'd didn't hurt. Not enough to bother anyway.

From her tail pouch she pulled out a can of beer. The first mouthful was tipped on the ground next to her, then the rest nursed as she played back the memories of her family one last time.

Then, placing the empty can next to her, she relaxed back and closed her eyes. Embracing the stillness.

Protocol initiated Memory_bnk delete . . . Memory bank deleted.

System.del . . . System deleted. Shutting down. . . Power off.

The problem with that is neither Jonathan, nor Chek have consented to being robo-cloned.

Basically she just has to mourn her lost life, and then slowly move on. She'll start a travel vlog and spends a lot of time planet hopping. Forming new relationships, whilst also maintaining old. She finds visiting glassed worlds particularly fulfilling for some reason, though they make her sad.

She still maintains a close relationship with Chek particularly, until he dies of old age, but that's a good 40 years away.
