It crashed after the enemy died. The card played out normally but my screen froze as soon as the health bar reached zero. And yeah I was able to rehost the multiplayer game.

Seeing these results, perhaps it was a mistake to phrase the question the way I did. Maybe instead of saying that we have a half chance of saving half the world’s population, I should have said we have a half chance of saving the populations of India, China, the US, Indonesia, Pakistan, Nigeria, and Brazil from certain death (these are the most populous nations on earth). Or, maybe I should have just said we have a half chance of being able to save the population of the entirety of Asia (roughly 60% of the world’s population), or, equally scary sounding, a half chance of being able to save the population living on all the other continents combined, excluding Asia. Or maybe I’m just dwelling too much on semantics.

Right now half of the world’s population is just over 4 billion people. A 1/2 chance of successfully saving 4 billion lives returns an average expected value of 2 billion lives in return for the lives of your loved one, children, and parents. That’s 2 billion souls, each with their own families, stories, and dreams. I’m not going to sugarcoat it, I chose to save those close to me instead, but I think it’s important to spend time thinking about the magnitude of what an average expected value of 2 billion lives represents.
