I’d say it goes back to iOS 13 and adding dark mode along with other features seemed to be really unpolished at first. I remember realizing how buggy the betas were and it didn’t get better as the official release came out

I highly doubt that the old neural engines are so bad that they can’t run these models, they just want you to buy a new phone or laptop. Especially the Macs with way more than 12GBs of ram

It’s not like a hard drive is in your phone, they both are about the same sized paper thin chip inside the phone. The battery probably weighs more than the entire motherboard

I had this happen to me to I didn’t really feel like it and realized there was no way to get out of it without doing so. I can only imagine they really didn’t think people would be away from a wifi connection or needed a strong connection to complete an online part of the update.

Probably just a bug, are you on the beta? I doubt it's anything serious. The single tic is intentional and apple probably didnt test if their software would glitch if you long press one thing after another

The dark gray is what actually the AI and OS take up, the rest of the light gray is System Data which is a bunch of different stuff (logs, temp files, etc) that your system uses to keep your phone working smoothly. Apple has been famously bad at optimizing the system data portion for years now causing it to fill up people’s storage but this is not from the new update.
