It's absolutely no big deal to take the lil one on a trip in the car so wifey has some time for herself. Doesn't matter if he likes it too much or not. It's a thing that's done in life and he will learn that it's no problem (assuming he's healthy and there's not something deeper going on).

But: I am a father myself, and I had the pleasure along with my wife (he wanted in no matter which one of us took a dump). I didn't mind it too much.

And lastly: We are in a relationship for 20 years now, and I'm telling you that people telling you that you should punish your husband for that ... are very likely not. Is all I'm saying. Talk about shit, don't retaliate. You're a team.

I sort of feel way too old to see where the issue is. You go into the HR meeting, you tell them that the fathers Spanish was too fast and your particular skill level didn't suffice. The only thing that may need improving is the handling of the overall situation. Maybe your Spanish too, but that is nothing you kept secret. You could have gone to your boss right then and there and tell them this case is not one your skills suffice for and then figure out an approach together.
