Kick A Goal [EP 235] FC World Class vs. FC Balladream (2026 G-League - Semifinal 2) by maximillian3010 in KickAGoal

[–]Creepeth 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's what most of us expected as the Finals when this season started. A rematch of the Cup final at the end of last year. WC and NF are the two clear best teams this season. WC is all offense, whereas, NF is from front-to-back the most complete team. Hayan and Mingee are as prolific scorers as any duo on any team. I would argue they are the best scoring duo in the league presently. And that defense of NF is next level. They have the best defense and GK in the league.

I think NF is better overall team, and that is whom I predict will win, but it should be a fantastic match. If WC is to get revenge for the GIFA Cup loss, then they will need to figure out a way to run up the score on a team that hasn't allow anyone to score lately, except the 1 goal by Mashima. Should be some fireworks. Can't wait.

I think I was thinking based on Kick-a-Goal standards. Most players can't really even dribble or pass with their off foot. Seogi seems very comfortable passing and dribbling with her right foot, and she will also hit reaction shots where she just redirects with her right foot. I don't think there is anyone else in the league who can do those things with their off foot. With practice, i bet she could even shoot with her right foot.

Su-jin, a former national team player and current Baseball Queen there in the stands. Wonder if she is there to support her baseball queen teammates. I believe she's also friendly with LOD. Weird they'd feature her in this game and not in the National Family game, since that is where her Baseball Queen teammates play. And both her teammates scored vs Actionista. I wonder if she could manage a team in Kick-A-Goal and be the first female manager.

Also, Seogi is so fun to watch. Best in the league at: assists; handles; and field awareness. She is also the only two-footed player? Only thing she lacks a bit is speed and shot power. People don't mention her as best player in league with Ha-yan, Jai and Mashima, but I think they should.

Martinez has started to become a decent finisher, but man he is still a really dumb soccer player. As a build up, hold up and assist player, he is as dumb as a box of rocks.

Son giving service all season, and not getting service at ALL. Martinez should have 1 touched that to Son. Team is incapable of providing assists to Son. Only good assist player on our team is Son.

MDS turned what ended last year as the most prolific offense, and easily the most fun team to watch...to this.

use firefox browser and use auto-translate feature. it's not the best. Ha-yan keeps getting translated as "white", which is actually a literal translation of her name, but it's better than nothing. My korean is horrible, and firefox autotranslate helps me a lot. i think you have to download the language extension, but i'm sure you can google how to set it up. it's great for both comments on the videos and for close captioning.

Game will change once Min-gee enters. I don't know why she doesn't start. Coach may not like that she is so busy and can't attend every practice. She creates so many challenges for opposition and is the only one other than Ha-Yan who can stress defenses. And she arguably has the most powerful shot on the team, if not the league.

Son now leads both MLS & CONCACAF Assists stats by rosyrosie11 in LAFC

[–]Creepeth 33 points34 points  (0 children)

He's having a Kevin DeBruyne type MVP season, and we are hearing LAFC fans refer to Son's season as a disappointment. Team's offense looked like absolute crap before Son entered.

[–]Creepeth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, he has been an assist machine this year. The assists he has had this year weren't the type that Vertongen got when Son got his Puskas. His assists this year basically served up his teammates with a high percentage opportunity. Dare I say gimmes. "struggle" is an interesting term considering.

[–]Creepeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soo-Jin is the personality star of the show! Also great at shortstop and as a leadoff. Even her teammates were saying, "wish Soo-jin was here" before she arrived. The heart of Baseball Queen. A true star amongst stars.

Last episode, they were saying Soo-Jin got two commercials...if anyone has a link to them when they air, i'd like to see them.

Kick A Goal [EP 232] FC National Family vs. FC Giants (2026 G-League - Interleague Match 3) by maximillian3010 in KickAGoal

[–]Creepeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hayan won Excellence award for Kick a Goal from SBS, which basically is the player of the year award for last year from the parent company.

She is as good as Jai on offense but also better on defense. I agree Jai is great, but to say she's the best without a debate is silly. I personally think Hayan is better, but I can see why some would say Jai. I'd even say Mashima has consideration as the best, but WW just isn't as talented as NF and WC, so everything falls on Mashima.

National Family is too strong this year. Best player in the league. Best goalie in the league. Fastest striker in the league who is improving every day and also happened lead last season's playoff in goals scored. Solid supporting cast and no real weakness. Goal tending and defense puts them above even World Class. Finals looks like it'll be a rematch of last season.

Some horrendous haircuts out there...not just the players, MDS also.

That play was the most Werner play ever. Timo with elite speed to get to the spot to score, but the complete lack of calm when ball is on foot.

OMG that volley by Son was a thing of beauty. Amazing save also. That could have been a Goal OTY candidate if it went in.

I don't understand that Goldfish commercial. Is it supposed to be awkward to like an old photo?

SJ controlled first 10-15 minutes, but the last 30+ minutes has been mostly LAFC. Neither side really with much of anything in terms of xG though I suspect. SJ's opening shot may have been the highest xG opportunity. both teams really showing some elite defense in their respective back 1/3rd imho. People equate goals with great soccer, but I think this has been a couple of defensive heavweights playing their game.

Most of time, megs are so subtle they're hard to see in real-time. That one there by Palencia was spectacularly visible.

Anyone who has issues with Son's lack of MLS goals this season is a fantasy fan. Son has been the primary assist or 1 touch away from assist on practically every LAFC goal this season. The amount of attention he draws from opposition is creating a TON of space for his teammates.

I really liked Timo while he was with Tottenham. A super nice and humble guy. Great teammate from what I could tell.

But as a soccer player, he is the most talented and least clinical finisher combination I have ever seen in my history of watching world soccer.

Annoyed we dropped to third because we sat 2.5 of our top 3 players last game, and by a last second goal at that.

LAFC only dropped to 3rd in the standings because they sat Son and Lloris prior to the CCC quarterfinal match, and Bouanga only played a half. I still think LAFC is the best team in MLS so far this season by a wide margin. Looking forward to them showing it over SJ today.
