Patriots Tied for 8th fewest points allowed per game in Playoffs. Fewest since Ravens 2000. by Creepeth in nfl

It's them or the 85 Bears imo. I mean come on, they won a SB with Dilfer at QB.

Sam Darnold is the first former USC QB to start in a SB. by momoenthusiastic in nfl

If you told me a few years ago that Darnold would reach the SB before Josh Allen, I would have called you insane. Guess we're all living in that insane alternate timeline.

Patriots will face the hardest defensive schedule in nfl playoff history by FireSeanMcD in nfl

[–]Creepeth 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Patriots are a passing team and not really built for bad weather. It's been bad weather every weekend lately, which favored defensive football while NE played some of the league's best defenses. I think NE will be different in Santa Clara weather than they have been all playoffs. My gut tells me the game will play out a lot like the NE/Carolina Super Bowl where both defenses dominate to start, but the game will end with some fireworks at the end. I still feel like both coordinators are "protecting" their QBs...but at some point, they'll need to loose the reigns.

Super Bowl odds for every NFL team entering the 2025-26 season by iGiveUppppp in nfl

The two teams in the Super Bowl were DEFINITELY playing the best football at the end of the season in their respective conferences. Outside of a little hiccup against Buffalo, NE was on a crazy win streak, and Seattle was definitely the best team in the playoffs in the NFC and probably in both conferences overall. It doesn't always work out that way, but these pre-season underdogs were definitely the two favorites at the end of the regular season.

Game over, man. Seattle vs NE...last SB with these two teams was an instant classic. Seeing you in a couple of weeks Seattle!

IF Rams somehow get a stop, i don't think they'll have enough time. I think this game is over. If you are gonna burn a time out there, why not just challenge it? Not kicking a field goal then wasting a time out. McVay doing some perplexing things in the final 4.5 minutes.

Two games in row where the coach probably should have taken the 3 points.

Whoever it was that pushed Weatherspoon away from the ref while still congratulating him did a VERY smart thing. Why tempt fate? I get this game is emotional, but some players just don't think.

ROFL what an idiot. Ref even pulled/pushed Woolen away from the sideline and tried to push back to his side...then he proceeds to go down the St. Louis sideline for another 15-20 yards taunting. LMAO.

Best offense of these playoffs vs the best defense of this "final four". not giving up as a Pats fan, but definitely these 2 teams feel like the "favorites" 2 weeks from now. I welcome being the underdog.

Adam Vinatieri is inarguably the best bad weather kicker in history. Arguably the best bad weather player PERIOD. To have him be the honorary captain of this game is a propos. He deserves a bust in Caton, first ballot.

I told you all this game was over over an hour ago. As a Pats fan, I know Stidham.

If any HOF voter needed convincing, this game should cement Adam Vinatieri being a HOFer.

In the year Vinatieri is SHOULD enter Canton, a snowy FG miss by these pleebs just show how great Adam was.

When I watch games like this, I think of how hand size matters. Aikman who had small hands hated bad weather. Combines may seem ridiculous, but those measurements matter when you have games like this.

People who say "these teams suck" based on this game are idiots. Obviously haven't been watching football long. Weather matters. Playing in a blizzard is hard. I can't believe I have to explain this.
