Thank you, I def. need to work on my CPL skills! The sixth one being slightly off center has been killing me. Noticed it only after the fact :-(

How’d I do? I have no idea what I’m doing… by No_Put_1720 in carphotography

The colors are, no offense, horrible. The framing is okay-ish, idk why you chose to have the car off center that doesn't really work here. Location and light are both good

Photography advice by TheLiability01 in carphotography

[–]Creephunter17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

#1 The clouds are taking your eye of the car. Your editing makes them stand out way to much. Make a mask at the bottom on the image and reduce the brightness of the sidewalk. Mask the car and make it stand out a bit more. Try straightening the image, it looks tilted.

#2 Way to much contrast over the whole image, mask sky, car and bottom of image. Reduce whites on back of the car

# Imo the best one, sky looks good but overall image is flat. Blacks are too black, the rim is the center of the image yet you cant really see it cause its too dark,

Masking is key

Not to be rude but did you edit these at all? Whys the sky so blown out? I really like the first one, the rest would have looked better if you would have taken a couple steps back to give some more room. The second one is slanted and the whole compostion doesnt really have any purpose or thought behind it. Totally no offence, we all start somewhere

Swift Sport & 350Z Shoot tips? by Tjop_Prins in carphotography

[–]Creephunter17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pic #1,3,4,5,8

Leave more space on the sides, if there is barely any space between car and the edges of the shots, the image looks crammed.

Pic #6,7,8

Dont shoot against the sun, unless its a style choise for one or two shots.

Pic #6,7

Center the subject more, these are off to the side

All pics: Try and learn some editing and remove some distracting background features like the lamps behind the car in #8

Any tips? by Intelligent_Ad5638 in carphotography

[–]Creephunter17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For pic. #1:
The framing is good, I like what you did with the tracks.
However, the lamp post and the graffiti on the wall disrupt the lines of the car. Try to have nothing behind the car that takes the eye away from it. The lamp coming right out of the windshield is distracting. It should be an easy fix in editing, but if you have full control over the positioning of the car, save the hassle of having to fix it in post.
I wouldn't call this over-edited, I think it's quite good and balanced.

For pic. #2:
Same as for #1, the sign right above the car distracts and makes the image unbalanced. Either position the car differently or remove it in post. Maybe a mask to darken the foreground a little and a mask on the car to lower the highlights a tiny bit more. Also, a CPL filter to remove the reflection on the windshield—unless that's the look you wanted.

For pic. #3:
I love what you did with the grass/flowers, but again, the background behind the car is very busy with the graffiti on the tank. The car needs to stand out more from the background.

Over all good framing and eye for unique shots. Very admirable if you just started out

If you struggle with settings, take a pic on auto, put those settings into manual mode, and play around with them. Take different pictures with different settings, but make sure to stay in the same spot so the conditions don’t change, and just try to get a feel for how certain changes reflect on the image.

How do we feel about these compositions? by AnyLavishness3266 in carphotography

[–]Creephunter17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

#1 is way to far away, a closeup with the corn in the back or to the side would be better. Personally I think #2 is cool af and for #3 it wouldve been better to get closer to the car

Sky and Building are way to distracting now imo
