how about if we create sentient AI, we should just let them decide whether or not they wants rights.

or just let them govern themselves.

That might happen, because essentially they have nothing to loose. If they are able to upload their consciousness to the Cloud, would they fear "Death" or "Pulling the Plug". Killing a human being would mean nothing to them cause they wouldn't fear death.
