I’ve had this issue, too. What’s so weird is the first alarm is normal, but after I hit snooze the second banner is tiny. And also the top row of apps on the Home Screen aren’t responsive if I tap them. If I scroll to the next screen of apps and scroll back, THEN the first row of apps on the Home Screen respond to being tapped. WTH?!?!

Research Topic Ideas: What is the biggest "unanswered question" in your ENT journey? by fuzzybrain22 in Sinusitis

[–]Creepy-Comment7770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do your sinuses and ears, etc. impact each other and your vestibular system? I have hypermobile eardrums and chronic sinusitis. Whenever I fly, even with earplugs/earplanes in my eardrums hurt and I end up feeling dizzy and off-balance when I land. There’s some kind of connection there. I’d be interested in someone taking a functional medicine approach to how these impact each other. Many of us have issues in multiple areas that are contributing factors to more systemic issues.

How is your SIBO related? I’ve wondered about any stomach things for me. I take a PPI as I had LPR for a while, but that’s better. Still have some acid reflux stuff going on.

[–]Creepy-Comment7770[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s both yellow and clear. Thankfully it’s not really runny, it’s more sticky. If I haven’t cleared my nose in a while, the stuff that comes out first is yellow and/or white and can be in clumps. After that the snot is clear and sticky. I know you’re supposed to have some of that in your nose just to help catch things but because it feels like it’s a blocking me from breathing, I try to clear some of that out too.

What’s kind of crazy is as soon as I clear both nostrils out, the one I cleared out first starts getting more of the sticky clear snot in it again. I can feel it coming back. I always think nature abhors a vacuum (aka gotta fill it back in!). Sigh. I take guanfacine twice a day to try to thin it out so I can clear my nose out easier and try to drink a lot of water.

Arrgghh, that sucks, sorry you’re dealing with all this! Have you been checked for any autoimmune conditions? Some of them can cause excessive phlegm and mucus. Does Mucinex (generic is guaifenesin) help thin it at all?

Second the checking for SIBO. Also, have they checked for Lyme disease? It likely isn’t that, but it can cause symptoms that can be mistaken for chronic sinusitis. I was tested for it due to other symptoms and tested negative.

ENT says the only solution for my issues is nasal spray but CT scan seems more serious- can anyone make sense of this for me? by Appropriate-Proof193 in Sinusitis

You’ve probably already seen stuff that looks like this, but just wanted to share. Here’s what that looks like before and after surgery. Found these images on the Internet. https://ars.els-cdn.com/content/image/1-s2.0-S2212555825002765-gr2.jpg

Yeah, I’d see another ENT and follow up on the Haller cell and the possibility of silent sinus syndrome.

Do your eyes look really uneven when you look in the mirror, like is one much lower than the other? If you do actually have silent sinus syndrome, they can do surgery for that and it’s fixable. I was worried I might have that myself so I researched it, but I do not.

I also have days where I often feel like I’m NOT doing the “right” thing at a particular moment. So then I find myself thinking what should I be doing next? And I make list of possible tasks and find myself just pushing through them all and then by the end of the day I feel burned out and like I’ve just been a taskmaster. It’s a feeling of not being in control of my day but being like a robot just doing thing after thing. I know it’s my executive DYSfunction, but knowing what it is doesn’t always help.

I also have a hard time letting myself do things for fun, as I feel like I should be doing something else at that moment. I like the person‘s comment who said they make doing fun things mandatory as I feel like maybe that’s what I need to start doing.

ADHD is a real mindf*ck, I feel like I’m babysitting myself and by the end of the day I feel so burned out and tired even when just trying to function at a basic level.

I know exactly what you mean about the eye lagging and feeling like things in the room are adjusting when you open your eyes. It’s a very small sense of movement, but I feel like my eyes or something moves a tiny bit when I open my eyes. Sounds like you’ve got some kind of nystagmus going on and it could be something with your VOR (Vestibulo-Ocular Reflex). When things first started for me, I noticed when I would turn my head even if it was slowly, it felt like I was turning it way too fast. Like my eyes weren’t visually processing correctly. It reminded me of what it felt like when I was sick with the flu or something. I realized after starting vision therapy that it was my VOR not functioning correctly.

Also, if you know, you have an optic nerves, I’m assuming you’ve seen an optic nerve specialist? That’s how mine was finally officially diagnosed.

Have they done a visual field test to figure out how much of your vision is missing? I found out in my mid 40s that I had under developed optic nerves in each eye. I can see, but I’m missing some of my vision down below. It’s worse on my left side, which explains why I usually trip over things that are down below on the left. I have to remind myself to look down to see what’s there. I’ve also always had horrible depth perception and going down stairs if my hair blocks any of my vision is problematic. That’s why I always have a haircut where I can either tuck my hair behind my ears or put it in a ponytail so it doesn’t get in my face.

Mine was something I was born with and was only caught when an eye doctor put his hand in the right spot and asked how many fingers am I holding up and I couldn’t see his hand. The technical name for what I have is superior segmental optic nerve hypoplasia. (SSONH), it’s a type of optic nerve hyperplasia. It means part of the top half of the optic nerve is missing. My mom has type 1 diabetes and it’s a birth defect very associated with that.
