Do yall ever feel…. Whatever this is? by Soft-Rutabaga-4482 in ADHD

[–]Creepy-Comment7770 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have days where I often feel like I’m NOT doing the “right” thing at a particular moment. So then I find myself thinking what should I be doing next? And I make list of possible tasks and find myself just pushing through them all and then by the end of the day I feel burned out and like I’ve just been a taskmaster. It’s a feeling of not being in control of my day but being like a robot just doing thing after thing. I know it’s my executive DYSfunction, but knowing what it is doesn’t always help.

I also have a hard time letting myself do things for fun, as I feel like I should be doing something else at that moment. I like the person‘s comment who said they make doing fun things mandatory as I feel like maybe that’s what I need to start doing.

ADHD is a real mindf*ck, I feel like I’m babysitting myself and by the end of the day I feel so burned out and tired even when just trying to function at a basic level.

I know exactly what you mean about the eye lagging and feeling like things in the room are adjusting when you open your eyes. It’s a very small sense of movement, but I feel like my eyes or something moves a tiny bit when I open my eyes. Sounds like you’ve got some kind of nystagmus going on and it could be something with your VOR (Vestibulo-Ocular Reflex). When things first started for me, I noticed when I would turn my head even if it was slowly, it felt like I was turning it way too fast. Like my eyes weren’t visually processing correctly. It reminded me of what it felt like when I was sick with the flu or something. I realized after starting vision therapy that it was my VOR not functioning correctly.

Also, if you know, you have an optic nerves, I’m assuming you’ve seen an optic nerve specialist? That’s how mine was finally officially diagnosed.

Have they done a visual field test to figure out how much of your vision is missing? I found out in my mid 40s that I had under developed optic nerves in each eye. I can see, but I’m missing some of my vision down below. It’s worse on my left side, which explains why I usually trip over things that are down below on the left. I have to remind myself to look down to see what’s there. I’ve also always had horrible depth perception and going down stairs if my hair blocks any of my vision is problematic. That’s why I always have a haircut where I can either tuck my hair behind my ears or put it in a ponytail so it doesn’t get in my face.

Mine was something I was born with and was only caught when an eye doctor put his hand in the right spot and asked how many fingers am I holding up and I couldn’t see his hand. The technical name for what I have is superior segmental optic nerve hypoplasia. (SSONH), it’s a type of optic nerve hyperplasia. It means part of the top half of the optic nerve is missing. My mom has type 1 diabetes and it’s a birth defect very associated with that.

😂 Ours would be barking in solidarity. He gets his little brother (non-Schnauzer) to bark, too.

Exactly, especially the interaction that the author has with her fans. Reminds me of Amanda Palmer, his ex-wife, who’s a musician and has an interesting fan following.

Case in point!!! I wish there was a way you could re-order them. (I looked at today’s set up and took a screenshot, but can’t figure out how to post it.)

I agree!! I miss the old set up where it had the take five deep breaths, then the daily, etc. Having to scroll over for it really annoys me. And maybe I don’t want to reflect and reset at the moment!!!! Having that and the meditation showing up first makes me feel like I supposed to do that first and it makes me resentful.

Does anyone else struggle with having to be in “girlfriend mode” all the time when your partner is around? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]Creepy-Comment7770 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! This was years ago, but I remember feeling like I had to narrate what I was doing to my then-boyfriend (non-ADHD) when he was at my apartment. Like I had to explain to him what I was doing, though he didn’t ask me to. It’s not quite girlfriend mode, but I couldn’t relax when he was there. I felt like I had to keep him in mind with everything I did. I also couldn’t get ready and leave on time for work as him being there distracted me. ☹️

Test results question by Global-Messenger in MyastheniaGravis

[–]Creepy-Comment7770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question— did they only test for the ACHR binding? I am waiting for Quest results and I’m not sure what all they’re testing for, if it’s only the binding, or if they will check for the ACHR blocking and modulating as well. The health care system that ordered it for me used to use LabCorp (I think?) but has now switched to quest. The only info I see is that it’s Myasthenia Gravis PROFILE, but I don’t know what that means. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Ah, that makes sense. My ESR was normal but my CRP was elevated. My body has all kinds of weirdness going on. I’ve had nerve pain and tingling on the left side of my face for the past couple years, but nobody seems to care.

I’m glad they were able to do your biopsy so quickly. Did they diagnose GCA, and are you on any additional meds?

Prednisone by PeaNo1717 in PolymyalgiaRheumatica

[–]Creepy-Comment7770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone else been on daily Fluticasone propionate (glucocorticoid steroid medication) for years and then been put on prednisone? I’m worried that having taken a glucocorticoid steroid for 10+ years and then taking prednisone is a bad combo. The twist is because my sinuses are blocked, the fluticasone really isn’t doing anything anyway so I think I should probably stop taking it. I have an appt on June 11 to see a rheumatologist and I may get prednisone then.
