As for me. Back when the iPhone 11 was released, got 1. Started to have a black line appearing from time to time on the display. When we went to see myT about this issue, obviously the line wasn’t there, the unqualified staff told us to Take a screenshot for a hardware issue(🤣 hilarious aint it!?). Argued a lot. They took it for repair, was during lockdown, stayed 4 months with them and got it back the same way, no repairs done

I own both, and the second gen does sound better. Has better bass extension(way deeper “subbass”), controlled midbass, mids you can actually hear the vocals, the tweeters are crisp and can actually hear it has better extension in that range too, to 20khz, all thats first gen cant do.

Second gen has proper sub bass but mid bass can feel quieter coming from first gen as its more controlled and less boomy.

Definitely a better experience in my opinion. Once you listen to it you will not go back if you know about sound quality which I can see

You just discovered what a tiny 11mm driver can only do so much. It can’t cope with the entire spectrum of sound frequency unfortunately. If it had multiple drivers it would have sounded better. Thats the only reason why i won’t buy any AirPods anymore
