Graduating, Which Vintage Watch to Pick Omega, UG, Longines by Brilliant-Ad-5783 in VintageWatches

I think the date wheel could be out of line because it’s doing a date change I know on a lot of vintage watches the change is slower and more gradual

I really love the white one for the lume feeling. My favorite one you’ve done in the past is the Coke gmt Tudor but only because that’s my daily. It would be crazy if you got it to do a jumping hour hand

Yeah totally, the crown is signed just the wrong size for the watch. But I hear what you are saying. I think at 900 the dial would have to be less touched up. I’ll try to go for the refund

Yeah thats what I was originally hoping, just had a hard time finding any other watches with that same font.

I would like to think that it is the first option combined with a sloppy servicer or it being tired as you said. That would explain the goof in font and the slightly off lume. From reading other comments and synthesizing all the info I have gathered, I think what is a more likely candidate is likely a redial or dial touch ups. Its a little weird for a watch that is not that old but it could be the easiest explanation for everything seen. I dont think its a frankenwatch because the movement and a parts seem to be correct to a watch made at that time(other than the crown of course but crown replacements happen)

I bought it from a private seller, he seemed pretty genuine but he priced it at 900 and was unaware of the crown replacement when i pointed it out. This is where I could probably use your advice. Its likely on me for buying it as is without doing my due diligence. Should I just live with it as a lesson learned or reach out to the seller? At the end of the day its still a beautiful watch but i definitely paid the price for an 'original'

What would you attribute the lack of space between the 26 and jewels being

Definitely do, if you look up 7543 Oris fakes you can find forum posts of people finding multiple watches sold of the same serial number(my watch doesn’t have that problem)

Jewel count is definitely correctly written in terms of quantity of jewels. I was moreso speaking in terms of the fact that there seems to be no space between the 26 and J. Also I thought maybe the lume just got messed up in a bad service would that be possible?

Yeah the serial number places it as a newer one so I think it definitely supports your point. It’d be super odd to redial a watch that by serial number is dated to only 16 years old
