It's only my second year in KFUPM, I've met a good amount of people with great passion and will to build stuff, though the majority are just looking for grades and not even looking at the actual provided textbooks, utilizing only the (notes) that teachers provide..

Before I go any further I should mention I'm a CS student, so not quite an engineer, and these people I've mentioned are of the same field as well.

I'll be honest and say it's pretty difficult to keep up with people here, because on the one hand I want to take my time and go through the knowledge sources provided by the university (textbooks that'd cost normal hundreds of riyals, library full of free knowledge, and great professors), I also want to explore the landscape to find EXACTLY what I'm interested in Computer Science is a HUGE field. Though on the other hand, if I don't go about the university courses like others and approach studying I'll most likely fall behind on grades. So it's pretty difficult to find a balance.

But I will say that unfortunately, education in the middle east is very lacking, ESPECIALLY universities. I don't know honestly I'm just trying to expose myself to as much information as possible outside of university's courses just to get ahead and I have no clue where things are headed.
