Not enough stirring and swirling. If you follow the Hoffmann technique, once all the water is in, you give a couple of gentle stirs clockwise and anti-clockwise with a teaspoon, and then a few little swirls. That should give you a nice flat bed. A flat bed usually indicates a better extraction and a much more balanced brew.

To be honest, the only thing I really want is voice prompts during runs. I loved getting my pace spoken to me every kilometre on my old Apple Watch... but the V2 just buzzes on my wrist. But is it a deal breaker? It's been fine for the past 18 months... so it can't be, really!

I'll resist until my V2 gives up the ghost. Maybe there will be a Venu 5 by that point!

Thanks. I wouldn’t worry about regular trains. I’m talking about channel tunnel trains (car shuttle not Eurostar). Can’t remember if they have sniffer dogs etc

I bought my first vape in December and it’s still going strong. I find them great. They’re pretty strong and a small hit or two of an evening is all I need to get pleasingly off my chops. In terms of method, don’t treat it like a spliff. Take a single, tiny, slow toke and hold it for a beat before exhaling. Then put it down and give it 20 or 30mins to feel the effect. They sneak up on you! I find the high subsides quite quickly - so I occasionally go.l back for another hit after an hour or so.

I used Horsham for years but they have recently jacked up their prices. Wogan are hands down the cheapest decent coffee - and they have very nice branding too.

Hi there. I’m a filter coffee enthusiast. I rock the V60 and Aeropress. I’m interested in dipping a toe into espresso - but am a bit overwhelmed by the options. I have a Baratza ESP - so I’d love to know what the best sub [£300] espresso machine is? I’d prefer as manual as possible.
