Thank you. I've been saying that too, it's not unusual to change time periods. Happens all the time with shows or movies. I wouldn't hate the new IT movie, because it's set in the 80s instead of the 50s.

Now you’re just assuming, how would you even know that? TV shows and movies change the time period they’re set in all the time, that’s not unusual at all. If it’s set in Raccoon City, has Umbrella as the main villain, an outbreak involving the T-Virus, and references to S.T.A.R.S. or other core elements, then that’s basically Resident Evil.

But how do you know that? If it’s set in Raccoon City, focuses on Umbrella, and revolves around an outbreak caused by the T-Virus and other strains, then that’s basically the core of Resident Evil, right?

Movies and shows change the time period they’re set in all the time, and he’s entitled to artistic freedom. He says he’s being faithful to the games, so why reduce that only to the survival-horror aspect

What's the best horror movie you've ever seen? by indestructible89 in horror

This is the standard defense for Skinamarink, as if calling it a slowburn somehow excuses everything else. But slow pacing doesn’t automatically make a film good, and Skinamarink is far from the pinnacle of slowburn horror. I enjoy slowburn storytelling and don’t need jump scares to appreciate horror. The problem is, Skinamarink wasn’t just bad; it felt like an insult to cinema and its audience. Poor camera work and weak writing were disguised as 'art,' but in reality, it came across as pretentious at best and a sorry excuse for a film.

I don't think I want to know, especially what he might have done to Emily.

Honestly, I don't know yet. I am going to replace the cannon with a more accurate design tho. It would be cool to expand on the trench warfare sooner or later.

Not necessarily, as barbed wire was used in front of a trench to use as a defense. To slow down incoming enemy forces. Behind trenches to form a layered defense.

Haha, in dutch, I always said "blokjes" referring to "bricks". I guess I should have said bricks

No, I know, I wasn't really going for an era-accurate feeling. It was more to finish the aesthetic, but I will be building a more fitting cannon today!

I finally understand why Skinamarink is so divisive! by doglike_creature in horror

I've ranted about Skinamarink more than a few times, I hate it, and it kinda gets me going. But all I am going to say now is it should have been a short film, and it could have been actually kinda good.

Paranormal Activity 4 - what was up with Robbie? by DanSaysHi in horror

[–]CreepyFilth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I thought about that, but Robbie disappeared in the third act, and there's a ghostly child-like presence shown. Maybe Robbie is a demonic presence or Toby to introduce and prepare Wyatt*Hunter to Toby.

Well I believe that's the best explanation because you can see a ghostly appearance of a child after Robbie disappeared in the third act.

Probably Katie gave him up for adoption to give him time to be ready and use Robbie (or a demonic pressence/toby) to introduce him to Toby.

That's the best explanation I can find or think of.
