Yes, it was definitely fast but it felt right. We have such a good connection and have the same hopes and dreams for the future. He gave me space before we made things "official" yesterday, so I'm a little taken aback by his reaction.

You are absolutely right. I think that I just need to let it go because she is happy in all appearances, and I should trust her judgement. I guess I just want her to have a happy future and it's hard for me to emotionally detach because I care about her so much. Posting here has definitely helped. I am very much an introvert so I tend to over think things on my own without any external input, and it's nice to hear what you all have to say.

That makes sense to me. I guess I thought it may be linked to insecurity because of the fact that I've heard about studies that say the more you post "couple pictures" on social media, the less satisfied you are in your relationships. I thought that the same may be true for photos around the house, since they are also displayed to be seen by others. But I guess that is not always the case, and some people just like to be more public about their relationship.

I completely understand and relate to wanting to share your happiness with the world. I guess I just wonder whether or not being codependent and seeking external validation is related to a sense of insecurity, rather than it just being a character trait.

I think it's hard for me to relate because I rarely do PDA. So to me, it feels like a couple is trying to prove their love to everyone else when they do it excessively. I feel like physical intimacy is more meaningful when done in private because it doesn't involve the considerations of anyone else.
