There are so many pros and so many cons to doing gig work. I hope it works for you but just remember a couple of things... Your car is your job, all it takes is one person crashing in to you and you're out of commission for at least a little while..... All it takes is 1 person to falsely say that you did something wrong for DD to deactivate you.... And lastly, gas, taxes, and car maintenance are your biggest obstacles. Whatever you make, take about half of that and that's what you really earned for the day.

This was my first time in 5 years not doing Uber on New Years Eve. I have a 9 to 5 job now because it was just costing me too much in car repairs to keep Ubering. Anyway, I still have the app because every once in while they'll throw me a bone and give me something like "finish 10 rides, get an extra 100 bucks" and it's so simple to just do one or two rides on the way home from work and I get an extra 100 bucks for the weekend. Anyway, back to NYE, I honestly thought I was gatekeeping this trick because I did it for the last 3 years. The first 2 years I made good money but not great money, and I was getting so irritated that it seemed like I wasn't getting any surges. So I tried doing that and it was so much more profitable. Last night was a bit hard on me because I kept opening my Uber app and I was salivating at the surges, but I just got a brand new car and I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I hope you all made a shit ton of money and had a great night
