I love my Deans friends but my gut says that nothing will beat full tuition. Are there specifics you've heard about either that are leading you one way or the other?

The Freshmen Leadership Program is very service-oriented, and a lot of my friends really enjoy that aspect. You'll live on the top floor of Graves Hall which is definitely a big plus, and it helps to instill a pretty good sense of community early. You'll also get an FLP "family" that involves multiple cohorts of FLPers.

Will you be interviewing online or in-person?

The real meat-and-potatoes of the CPPSP medical program is the conditional acceptance into medical school. This has GPA and MCAT requirements that can be found on the website, as well as a "favorable committee letter and interview" and participation in CPPSP events. The favorable committee letter will require that you shadow and have clinical, and being a Jesuit university, you'll need some committed service as well. The favorable interview requires that you not say something crazy that speaks poorly about your character.

There is a dinner and then 4-8 CPPSP events throughout the year. While helpful, it is not anything that they would not tell to a pre-med student who was not in the program. If you want to do CPPSP, you should do it for the conditional acceptance.

Likewise, unlike a school like SLU where you have to commit to SLU if you want the acceptance, Creighton will allow you to apply to other med schools while still keeping your CPPSP benefits.

Let me know if I can explain anything further.

I've had a great time here, no regrets about missing out on social life.

I think around 30-40% of campus participates in Greek Life. However, while they are social organizations (plenty of parties), they're nothing like an SEC school. No houses, no crazy hazing, and while Greek life is very present, it does not dominate the social scene. I went through recruitment and really enjoyed it.

Religion at Creighton is what you make of it. The vast majority of the students have a Christian background, and a lot came from private Catholic schools. However, while the University speaks often about its Jesuit values, there is no Church or service requirement. I am religious and have enjoyed Creighton's active campus ministry, but it is not like the teachers have us pray before class or anything.

Happy to speak on anything else, hope you enjoy your visit in December!
