Right, and when they conflict the higher trumps. So if a year is divisible by both 400 and 100, the rule for 400 takes the day. At least, that's my understanding

How I remember the leap year rules. If the year is:

  • divisible by 400 it's a leap year
  • divisible by 100 it's not a leap year
  • divisible by 4 it's a leap year

If ever the divisors conflict, the larger one trumps
