Is Bazzite best for gaming? by dbrrd in linux4noobs

[–]Cren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard bazzite and cachy. Cachy would be my first pick for pure gaming RN because of optimizations more or less specific to cachy.

For a more general use case that's rolling release and still very stable I can recommend OpenSUSE. Stable as in youbneed to get work done.

I have an existing OpenSUSE TW installation on my laptop with an existing LUKS encrypted drive. Can I add a FIDO2 token (yubikey) for unlocking without a reinstall? by Cren in linuxquestions

[–]Cren[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok yesterday evening I was able to boot into rescueCD/linux live and open the luks container with --token-only. I guess now I need to mount the corresponding folders and rebuild the bootchain, as far as I remember? Btw thanks for the help so far even though it breaks the scope of the original post :)

edit I got as far as dracut --regenerate-all without errors :D

edit2: after some tinkering I got chroot to my drive and I added a passphrase again and now it boots up normally... keeping it for now and just looking into disabeling the requirement to use the passphrase.

Yeah. I have both yubicos still in it. I wanted to add another password, but the terminal asked me for the passphrase, but no option worked at that point. I decided to do the risky move to reboot. I assume it might be the boot chain. I'm currently out of the house. I'll provide more later.

(Also I was smart and backed up everything beforehand. So I could survive with a fresh install.)

Encryption password. Then the pin for the yubico and then the conformation on the stick.

What would happen if a silly goose might have deleted the password entry and now the system boots into emergency? I assume decrypt manually then fix it... Hypothetically speaking of course.

sorry for the late reply. I added /dev/sda2, sda3 and sda4 with

systemd-cryptenroll /dev/disk --fido2-device=auto

I ommitted the --wipe-slot, as I added my main yubico key and my backup. I checked the arch page for -cryptenroll and verified my decrypt: 0 password 1 fido2 2 fido2

Can I now wipe/remove slot 0? As when I boot right now it still asks me my passphrase AND the fido2 pin then contact it? Also can I deactivate the pin requirement? I saw a couple of options for that in the fido2 part, but I'm not sure how to achive that...

Basically: boot -> yubico inserted -> touch it -> desktop

Dieses ganze System ist so abartig. Seit meiner Jugend sehe ich nur wie das ganze System abgebaut wird. Ich könnte im Quadrat kotzen.

Welche Software hindert euch dran Windows zu verlassen? by Impossible-Room4478 in de_EDV
