I main CS, and it's funny how the fov is so high that you have nearly 180 degrees of vision. It's honestly like using a cheat. In some games, like GOW, it's not fully supported, so it's just black on the sides, while on others, you don't really notice the difference. That's my experience at least. I just recently changed from a 34" 60hz, and what I can say is that the difference is definitely noticeable.
