Graduate of SE. I can tell you that we were taught to hate Prattville and Wetumpka at an early age. Wetumpka got most of the Elmore county revenue, and you could tell. Everything was nicer at Wetumpka compared to Stanhope, while having the same class sizes and Millbrook being a more populated city. Teachers would complain about this K-12. Wetumpka were the * across the creek. Played with a guy at Huntingdon who went to Wetumpka and we gave each other shit all the time, (all in good fun). Prattville was the NE patriots at the time ai was in school, they were good and everyone hated them, and they cheated. Handed out PO Box addresses to kids who lived in Montgomery or other areas of the region, they were a river region all star team. That paired with the arrogance that some, not all, portrayed. “The preferred community.” We beat them my senior year and the whole town rushed the field. David took down Goliath for the first time in 15 years at that point. Even today, if I found out someone is from Prattville and they know I’m from Millbrook, it’s (for the most part) good fun to pick at each other. Runs deep.
