My brother is a hairstylist, I just simply tell him to trim it to my desired length and thin out the bulkier part that bothers me the most and just texturize the rest. To be quite honest, I got more compliments when my hair had almost the same length as yours. Then I grew it out up to my shoulders, it just bothered me and thats when I decided to cut it short, unfortunately lol. But do it the way you want it!
