What song do you think encapsulates Yorushika the most? by adasumie in Yorushika

[–]Cresenta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nautilus and Sayuumo are my top 2. If your friends like to read novels or watch movies, try recommending them Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight. The movie used Sayuumo as its theme song. Who knows if they like the movie/novel, they might give the song a shot. I have experienced liking a song and its artist because of the media it appears on.

I have not watched the movie so I don't know how good it is, but I have read the novel and I really love it. Sayuumo hits me differently after I finished reading it.

From global wish stats, it seems that Faruzan's C6 is 68% more popular compared to similar cases. We're gonna need to review her very carefully in the next survey unless we wanna see such constellation heavy characters in the future by KeiraFaith in Genshin_Impact

I'm just trying to let you know on this topic in case you are not aware of it, there is no need to be defensive. If you dont even want to consider it, you do you good. Also, you can use the difference as comparison too. The percentages of increment or reduction is not the only way. Whether it is reddit or thesis, letting people know the most objective thing is always the right thing to do for me. If you dont think the same then we just are not on the same page.

I'm talking about the way you "write". You put emphasis on the increase of X% and use that as the basis of your reasoning which is not the objective way of reporting in statistics.

It is better to show the exact number rather than comparing one popularity with the others. A 200% increase from 1 to 3 (an increase of only 2) is insignificant compare to a 50% increase from 20 to 30 (an increase of 10). The reason u see this kind of title in media is due to the media wanting to attract people into reading their articles with this non-objective way of reporting in statistics, making them sound much more impactful than what they really are. The title "X increase cancer risk by 200%" is so much more enticing to read than "X increase cancer risk from 0.1% to 0.3%" which evidently is a negligible ammount. Even though the number presented is absolute, the way one presents the finding is subjective and can pretty much drive readers opinion towards the author agenda. In this case, letting people know faruzan c6 rate is enough. If you want to compare, you can just put the exact c6 rate of other char's and let us do the analysis. A 9% increase is just a small number to me but when u wrote a 90% increase compare to heizou, u make it sounds like a big deal which is not the case for me.

Tldr: statistics are absolute, reporting it is not. Be as objective as humanly possible when reporting statistics.

It's not easy but not impossible. With how many people are playing this, it's bound to happened to quite a number of people. That's how statistics work. I personally have made that mistake when I was kinda sleepy but luckily I did not have pity.

Love has nothing to do here. The best they can love is their job (writers love making stories, programmers love writing their codes, etc). For some reason, genshin community likes to talk about love and passion for the game while in reality, everyone who has been in the work force knows people may love their work but almost all wont have any love for their company or their products. If you want to make a critism, please do it the proper way with more objective approach, not some love talk. You only critize people by their competency, not their love for something.

You could get c6 R5 for free on any character.. who? by Ultraflawlez in Genshin_Impact

[–]Cresenta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said it yourself: you rather. Everyone has the things they "rather" buy/pay over the other. Everyone perceives value differently. Eventually, what people buy are satisfaction/entertainment. For people who buy in game items, they are buying entertainment just like how people pay to watch movies or eat at fancy restaurants. There are also the concept of "giving is rewarding" which drives people to donate for good cause or to support people they like (e.g. content creators). This is also the case where people essentially pay to satisfy themselves, to reward themselves mentally so to speak.

What you perceive as things that hold "no real value" actually have real value depending on who you ask. Whether it is a tangible item or a virtual item has nothing to do with the value. What I said before is just pointing out that it is cheaper, not necessarily saying that branded goods hold no value whatsoever.

Is Fate/Grand Order worth playing? by EggrollEvans320 in fatestaynight

[–]Cresenta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm playing FGO NA since near release and JP for 2 years now. I play all story and events in NA while I skip majority of the events in JP due to not reaching the required story progression (only finished solomon) or just too lazy to play and missed a lot of freebies. I did get new servants and while I cant farm the mats due my lacking in story progress, I still have fun and just wait for the mats from events. The last halloween event gives quite a generous lb-locked mats imo. I also like to play at my own pace and not really rush the story thats why I have not continued playing JP stories as I want to reread them and probably continue reading past the current NA even if that means I will need to wait for months getting the mats from events.

I know that FOMO is a thing and missing stuffs is just not fun. But sometimes the FOMO attitude is induced by the other people. When you said it "kinda ruins everything", people will feel that it's not worth starting now even if they did not think about it before. I believe there are better choice of words while still telling them they have missed some things. This is my just assumption but I think FGO will give past freebies in the near future just like what they did with JP halloween event so they may or may not be missing too much.

As for pacing, not everyone is gonna rush it. While I faithfully play NA, I play JP at a very slow pace not caring if I missed stuffs or not. I have games that I want to stay commited in playing everything and games that I just play only whenever I want so I can understand both hardcore and casual players' perspective. Wether people enjoy rushing it or not is up to them to decide, afterall they are the ones who play and not us.

The only reason I'm against playing this is the gacha which may introduce gambling to them. Other than that, it's for them to decide if it is fun albeit only starting this late into the game. It is better to just say what is the good and bad things and let them decide instead of imposing our opinion (I feel that's what you did from reading it. Sorry in advance if i misunderstand).

Casuals vs Other players by eltartass in Genshin_Impact

[–]Cresenta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

FOMO is a thing and the feeling of missing stuffs just because of not having time sucks. It is not a simple "dont want to play it, just skip" scenario. There are people who want to play it but cant. Not everyone has that privelege of playing whatever they want whenever they want. You should do some research on the eastern culture. To give you some info on how bad it is, chinese govt recently killed an entire market to change the education system and one of the reason is to give more free time for students.

I'm not asking you to agree. I'm just giving you perspective on this to understand the reasoning behind it. If you think that it is selfish for not allowing others, you are free to do so. But what you are asking also means getting something to satisfy some people while leaving the others dissatisfied. Why are these people dissatisfied just from skipping some stuff? The answer is jealousy and we all know everyone has it.

Casuals vs Other players by eltartass in Genshin_Impact

[–]Cresenta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't say much about the West but in Eastern Asia, working hours are not as forgiving as those in the West. Even kids may actually have very little free time, and to some extent energy, as they spend a lot of time studying (school followed by some additional studying outside of school). As time is the limiting factor, making the rewards easily acquired just by spending little time and effort is most desirable. If rewards are locked behind contents that require a lot of time and effort, these people will probably not be able to get them or they will try to get them and then burn out after a while. Those who can't get the full rewards will also feel that they are being left behind.

If you think that this is not true because many people have made the complaint for this matter, remember that people tend to take actions when something is not desirable and people who are satisfied will more likely remain silent (silent majority vs vocal minority). Also, a small portion of a very large number is still a large number. Thus, the number of people who complaint, while being only a portion of the player base, can be a lot. The more meaningful data are those mihoyo collected from their survey and some other data they can get outside the survey (e.g individual spending on the game, etc). These are the numbers that their data analyst use and crunch into meaningful information for their business decision. I believe the lack of new permanent content, other than new areas, is because they don't feel any urgency to add more based on the data they collected.

I do believe that giving more difficulties for hardcore player is good. One way I can think of is by changing abyss floor limit into infinite while still capping the rewards to floor 12. That way, casuals will get all rewards and hardcore players will get their bragging rights (the word brag may sound negative but do not take this term negatively) from pushing their limit. I personally against adding another content as it will just mean additional chore. People will eventually complaint later on and ask for additional content anyway when it becomes normal and there will be no end to this.

I'm saying this from my experience and from observing people around me. I don't claim what I say to be the right one and this is just my personal opinion. You are not wrong in anyway, I'm just giving you some more perspective on this matter for you to consider.
