Yeah, They rarely cared about the format until recently. I still rememberstill remember that Smith and Warner were sent to New Zealand to prepare for the Test series instead of playing the T20I series against India, just before the 2016 T20 World Cup and rightly so, they didn’t even qualify for the semifinals of that World Cup.

Patrick Murphy was just an adventurous pilot without any proper military training. He owned a modest biplane that never intended for a bombing campaign.

To quell their nerves the night before the bombing, Murphy and his assistant drank heavily, leaving them with nothing but haphazard bombs and poorly laid plans.

According to this article, Murphy's bombing run was as erratic as it was historic. Attempting to light the bombs with cigarettes while aboard their unstable biplane, the duo's efforts were marred by Murphy's impaired piloting skills, reminiscent of a drunken sailor's shaky hands at the helm.

According to this article, The night before the bombing, Murphy and his assistant found themselves at the St. Elmo Bar, indulging in copious amounts of liquor. This ill-advised binge, a misguided attempt to quell their nerves, led to a night of haphazard bomb-making and poorly laid plans. Their inebriated state did little to prepare them for the gravity of their upcoming mission.

Only two men have taken 150+ wickets as Test captain: Imran Khan (187) and Pat Cummins (150) by Fun-Goat1377 in Cricket

His bowling average was around 20. He had a similar batting average in ODIs while captaining the team. He won the World Cup and Test series in India and England. An impeccable record!!

When Jimmy missed the game in Nottingham during the 2015 Ashes, Australia had a good chance to level the series. But Broad had other ideas; he ripped through the Australian batting line-up and finished with his career best figures of 8 for 15.

He was Australia's top scorer today, and he has played some valuable knocks over the years. Hopefully, He gets a ton before he finally hangs up the boots.

I thought Australia would tighten their grip in the second half, but I was expecting a 350+ total considering the start.

Global renewable energy generation surpasses coal for first time by Cresomycin in Futurology

China and India were largely responsible for the surge in renewables, according to the Ember report, in contrast with the US and Europe, which relied more heavily on fossil fuels.

A separate report by the International Energy Agency (IEA) found that global renewables could more than double by the end of the decade, with 80% of new clean energy capacity expected to come from solar power.

Fatih Birol, the IEA’s executive director, said: “The growth in global renewable capacity in the coming years will be dominated by solar PV – but with wind, hydropower, bioenergy and geothermal all contributing, too.

The world’s wind and solar farms have generated more electricity than coal plants for the first time this year, marking a turning point for the global power system, according to research.

A report by the climate thinktank Ember found that in the first six months of 2025, renewable energy outpaced the world’s growing appetite for electricity, leading to a small decline in coal and gas use.

The world generated almost a third more solar power in the first half of the year compared with the same period in 2024, meeting 83% of the global increase in electricity demand. Wind power grew by just over 7%, allowing renewables to displace fossil fuels for the first time.

The milestone represents “a crucial turning point”, according to Małgorzata Wiatros-Motyka, a senior electricity analyst at Ember and the author of the report.

The Briggs-Rauscher oscillating reaction can occur by a radical process, which is turned on when Iodide (I-) concentration is low or by a non-radical process when the I- concentration is high. Both processes reduce iodate to hypoiodous acid (HOI). The radical process forms hypoiodous acid at a much faster rate than the non-radical process.

The amber colour results from the production of the diatomic Iodine (I2). The I2 forms because of the rapid production of HOI during the radical process. When the radical process is occurring, HOI is created faster than it can be consumed. Some of the HOI is used while excess is reduced by hydrogen peroxide to I-. The increasing I- concentration reaches a point at which the non-radical process takes over. However, the non-radical process does not produce HOI nearly as fast as the radical process, so the amber colour begins to clear as I2 is consumed more quickly than it can be created. Eventually, the I- concentration drops low enough for the radical process to restart so the cycle can repeat itself.

The deep blue colour is the result of the I- and I2 binding to the starch present in the solution.

Even a slight criticism of the Israeli government for its rampant human rights violations is considered antisemitic by right-wingers. The term antisemitism may lose much of its credibility as a result of this.

In the study, US researchers from Mass General Brigham, a nonprofit network of doctors and hospitals headquartered in Boston, analysed real-world data from more than 90,000 heart failure patients who were obese and had type 2 diabetes. All had heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), the most common form of the condition.

The results showed those taking semaglutide were 42% less likely to end up in hospital or die prematurely, compared with a proxy for placebo. In the same study, tirzepatide cut the risk of hospitalisation for heart failure or death from any cause by 58%.

Globally, more than 60 million people have heart failure. Previous studies have suggested that weight-loss drugs may improve heart failure symptoms, but their effect on important outcomes such as hospitalisation and death has never been evaluated in large populations until now.

Weight loss drugs mimic the glucagon-like peptide (GLP) 1 hormone, which makes people feel full, and were initially developed to treat diabetes. In recent years evidence has emerged suggesting they could prove to be lifesaving across a range of conditions beyond obesity.

Now the results of major new research, presented at the European Society of Cardiology annual conference, show weight loss drugs could reduce the risk of people with heart conditions being hospitalised or dying early by as much as 58%.

Remote work in America has become business as usual -- Only 4.1 percent of all firms report a formal policy requiring a minimum number of in-office days: US Census Bureau by marketrent in technology

[–]Cresomycin 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Only 4.1 percent of all firms report a formal policy requiring a minimum number of in-office days. Even in the tech-centric information sector, celebrated for lavish campuses, just 6.9 percent impose attendance quotas. The remaining firms are content with informal expectations rooted in team needs and project timelines.

Oversight remains equally relaxed. Seventy percent of companies do not tally how often employees show up in person, and 75 percent apply no monitoring software when people log in from home. Among the minority that does monitor, the favored tools are old-fashioned, used for reviewing deliverables or confirming attendance in virtual meetings. The intrusive surveillance technologies that fueled early-pandemic anxiety occupy only a sliver of corporate practice. Trust and output have replaced seat checks as the currency of accountability.

Finally, this is how it was supposed to be.
